For the comrades who wish to learn Dutch, here is a list of (commonly used) words, expressions, sentences in Dutch. It is my intention that the list will keep growing, so anyone can, in time, learn some basic Dutch. It seemed like fun, and it might be useful as well ;) . I will update this post as often as possible, and if anyone has any requests, questions, remarks, whatever, you can send me a PM, or post a reply here. If any of my Dutch-speaking comrades wish to help, they are of course more than welcome. So here goes:


Me= Ik
You= Jij
He= Hij
She= Zij
We= wij
You (plural)= jullie
They= Zij

To drink= Drinken
To eat= Eten
To feel= Voelen
To give= Geven
To hear= Horen
To know= Weten
To say= Zeggen
To sleep= Slapen
To smell= Ruiken
To think= Denken
To touch= (Aan)raken
To want= Willen

Hello= Hallo / Goeiedag
Bye (see you later)= Tot ziens
How are you?= Hoe gaat het?
Who are you?= Wie ben jij?
What's your name?= Hoe heet je?
How old are you?= Hoe oud ben je?
Where do you live?= Waar woon je?
Why do you want to know?= Waarom wil je dat weten?


Comrade= Kameraad
Everyone= Iedereen
Friendship= Vriendschap
Hatred= Haat
Jealousy= Jaloezie
Love= Liefde
Nobody= Niemand
Proletariat= Proletariaat
A Protest= (een) Betoging
Revolution= Revolutie
Together= Samen


Angry= Kwaad, Boos
Disappointed= Teleurgesteld
Excited= Opgewonden
Jealous= Jaloers
Happy= Vrolijk, Blij
Tired= Moe
Tired (sleepy)= Moe, Slaperig
