Argentina has aligned with France, Germany and Russia regarding the Iraq war. Argentina has (today) rejected the UK and Spain's (ambassador's) request to support the US-UK-Spain on attacking Iraq.
I'm SOOOOOOOO proud!

(During Gulf War 1, Argentina supported the war, actually, former president Menem did, the same guy who sold the whole country to foreign corporations)

Canada sent troops in combat mission in the first one :( broek the precident of being peace keepers. I am proud of Jean. Go buddy go!! This may break the Paul Martin's attempt at leadership *hopes*. We have rejected both America and Britian. Our two tradional allies!!

Know what??? Our President has been "warned" about not supporting the war because "Argentina may have some economic and trade problems" and our Prez replied, we don't give a damn, we always had these sort of problems.
LOL!!!!

Ya. If America does that to us, they have only been violating NAFTA for the last 10 years...what is making it offical going to do to make us help them?>

I'm not too proud of my country for .........wait.
I'm proud of my country's people for standing up to war and not basically following what America does.
I am unproud of my country's leader, for wanting war and basically following what America does and also for ignoring the above people.
I wonder how different this all could have been if William Hague was prime minister, probably quite boring.

Does anyone here think that the actions of the US can be influenced by other countries? No. Unfortunately, nobody has enough power to influence the politics of this rotten country.
Pete
18th March 2003, 17:50
But our countries can reject AMerican influences, as we are doing!

hey!
our bundeskanzler here in germany also has said, that this war isn't right. well, allright, that's also my opinion, but what can one do about this us-terror? i mean, what could anyone of us do to say NO! NO STEP FURTHER! there's just nothing. it depresses me so much, when you know, what i mean. none of this protests for peace did work, millions of people protested against an armed solution. and they just do what they want... how could one possibly live in this insane world, that isn't ethically and ethnically right? i thought, the us have had learnt from vietnam and from the first gulf war. how many innocent people will have to die for another big nothing in history? but i also feel sorry for those soldiers, who didn't want to join the army, but had no choice. why kill innocent people? the real psychos are not in bagdad, but in washington...

Chile has also rejected the Us proposal and already said it would vote agaisnt it on he security council
This brought a furious Bush to television saying that the chileans are cowards and it will be financially punished. But punished for what ??
for standing up for an unjust war, for this attempt of imperialism, for this excuse of a war and all the greed in their minds ??
Chile decided not to vote when the US wanted to expell Cuba from the OEA (American Countries Organization) but it seems now its taking a real position with its pants on

Im not proud of my country (Sweden) our primeminister (i dont know how to translate it to english!) is one of Bush's pets and even if they call them self "Social-Democrats" they are just as capitalistic as the right wing party!
If anyone says that Sweden is Socialistic Punch them in the face!
Sweden is the proof that socialism through reforms is IMPOSSIBLE!

*BEWARE OF PESSIMISM!!!*
I think Jean would be a good guy to sit down and have a beer with and maybe talk politics, but I wouldn't give him the time of day as far as his political actions have been. With great exeption to the recent events.
I too am proud that we're finally cock-blocking.

John Howard has committed Australian troops to the war on Iraq. He feels he has made the “right” decision and urges all Australians to back it. I am ashamed but I did not vote for him, he does not represent me. I stand with the anti-war protestors that he ignored.

Yes, Mexico and Chile have sided with Canada, and had supported our compromise plan....until this fiasco..... I think that this american agression is just going to unify the rest of america....minus the US of course ;)
I hate to say this, but this war could have good side effects for the "haters"....... with the US military spread thin.......well....... you get my drift ;)

America's alone on its own continent :). I like the sound of that.
-This should belong in shit chat, but its closed..so Crazy Pete just to tell you I had a dream that I met you but then the pentagon exploded because of a guerilla group and all of Che-Lives took up arms and charged the White House and then D Day grabbed and threw Bush against the wall, and Joon broke his back, and then Malte shot him in the head. It was pretty weird -

I am known for my rejection of nationalism, but now I feel even more hatred.
Our, liberal bastards government decided to "support the USA politicly, but not in war". I ask you, does this make sense?
In Holland the majority is anti-war.
They're going to pay..

Yes, Jean Chretien, our liberal-left leader :)
Hey pete, did you know that when Jean first got into politics (now, I'm talking a long time ago, lol) his main thing was for aboriginal rights, and that they get their land? I heard that somewhere. And then when he wasn't getting anywhere with it, not much support, he slowed down on it a bit. But he started out with good intentions :)

He does not support Iraq
He does not support this war
He supports war against terrorism in Gulf Region
We support Multilateral actions
He does not care about the economy first, but peace and the safety of Canada and Canadians.
He sounds so much at home in french, his English is really bad, but that is respectable. He is bilingual. And half of his face is paralized.

OMG, the local news are saying that Argentina has been accused of hiding Osama. It's seems that he has been here (dunno when) and attended an Al-Qaeda meeting in Brazil.
As far as I know, our sucking bushpet former president Menem had built a millionaire Muslim temple and a brother of Osama had been at the grand opening.
For the records: we don't have weapons of mass destructions.

An al-Qaeda meeting in Brazil?! This does not represent the attitude of my country!
Anyone know where Brazil stands on the issue of Iraq? Last I heard they were neutral, I'm guessing that they're anti-war by now.

Larissa, Russia had also been warned that if it vetoes the pro-war resolution, it will have immence economical problems, as well as worse relations with US. Seems like that born-again christian doesn't hesitate to offer blood money. Will the fact that it has basically been in vain (I am not speaking about Turkey and $26 billion, as I consider it the exception) teach him something?

Yes, Pete, we've been fucking them all our lives. In the 70's we nationalized US oil companies for instance. And lately, we went bankrupt and have failed to repay the IMF loans :-) I guess they are pissed off !

Vic, I don't know for sure if this is true. But as you may know the three-border frontier is a well know gate for terrorists and smuggling since looooong ago. no news about it (Frontera tripartita, Paraguay-Argentina-Brasil) - So, I wouldn't be surprised.

The way most Americans think
My wife is an elementary school teacher and she made a comment that a coworker said that she was against people dying in Iraq but that the citizens of Iraq had 48hrs to leave the country and she couldn’t understand why people didn’t leave. This is my friends the stupid shit I have to hear every day and it doesn’t come from rednecks, is coming from the same people that is suppose educate my children.

The sad thing is most ppl ask the same question, I wonder if these "smart minds" ever believe the Iraqis are willing to leave and have lots of funds to dos so. Shit!
