i believe in the whole personal freedom/ anti authoritarian part of anarchism but I also think we need the socialist transitory period. i just dont believe in the dictaitorship of the prolitariat. can it be that i am half marxist half anarchist?

well, there's libertarian Marxism, which includes Council Communism.

Dictatorship of the proletariat means that economy and society are in the hands of the proletariat. If you are not for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat then you are for multi classed rule.

Yes, it's very possible. I'm living proof of that.

It's fully acceptable to use a marxist analysis of capitalism and come to the conclusion that capitalism should be followed directly by a classless, stateless society after the proletarian revolution.

I am kinda the opposite. I believe in the need for a working class dictatorship, but I don't believe in a socialist transitory period. :)

But yes, it is possible to combine anarchism and marxism. I think most modern anarchists read and appriciate Marx, and I also think that most modern marxists read and appriciate atleast some anarchists.

The prole.info site that STI linked to, is great indeed. They combine anarchism and marxism, check it out. They also have a great manifesto, see my sign.

I would agree. I'm a Marxist who appreciates anarchist thought for its optimism and commitment to anti-authoritarianism. Far superior to the Leninist dogma that has been the stereotype of the leftist community for too long.

Yes, it is. When both ideologies drop their ideological characteristics they end up hand in hand within the practice of the revolutionary proletariat.

Ehhh... by the way: dictatorship of the proletariat is an association of free producers organized into direct-democracy for self-protection from the counter-revolutionary tendencies. There's nothing authoritarian about that. It's an anti-state formation. (Check out this thread (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=46364).)
