I love this quote, i'm even going to get it tattooed on me. But one thing i'm unsure of is when Che first said this.

it's possible that Che did not personnally come up with this quote (*gasp*) but that it, over time became his rallying cry. Im not even sure if he even said it before the revolution in cuba was nearing its end.

Getting it tatooed onto you might not be a brillitant idea: what if you need to go undercover into say the police to subvert them and then begin the revolution (example)?

There is no verb in this sentence:

Hasta - "until" - (Example) Hasta luego! = Until later!

La Victoria - "Victory"

Siempre - "always"

Hasta La Victoria Siempre = Always, until victory!

Neither I am sure when the first time was but I have read it in Che's speech at Medical University 1960 and his farewell letter to Fidel 1965.

I think that TBT is giving the literal definition of each word. That may translate differently from when the sentence is looked at as a whole.

I think that it's basically "Ever onwards until victory".

I was actually thinking about getting some wheat tattooed as a bracelet, representing farmers. I was thinking of some kind of blend between a cog and wheat, but I think it would look pretty bad. It would represent the proletariat, but yet it's not too obvious :)

I red somewhere that the complete sentence was like: "Hasta La Victoria Siempre! Patria O Muerte!" If it's true, then why aren't people mentioning the last piece of it?
