Some crackpot in wikipedia put that out. I think it's inspired by that fucker in Miami Enrique Ros who is putting out that shit. He wrote a book----Ernesto Che Guevara: Mito y Realidad Ernesto Che Guevara: Myth and Reality] which seeks to debunk the so-called Che legend. Ros is the father of Cuban-American Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Well in the book Ros says that Che was a mediocre students and in Guatemala Che just lounged around not caring at all for the poor people there. It's just revolting

I, too, read the Wikipedia article and saw that part...Which kind of pissed me off too.
If you dont like the book...Why did you link it?
I provided the link to show people who is responsible for disseminating this new counter-myth---Enrique Ros is closely allied with Orlando Bosch a terrorist mastermind!

Any book written by anyone related to someone in the US government is untrustworthy, in my opinion.

This is always goign to happen with "legends": you get people in afvor, and people opposed, adn after a while they don't care too much for the truth anymore. Practically every historician will tell you the Holocaust did take place; a small minority denies this. Preactically anyone with any knowledge on the subject will tell you Che did get his medical degree; a small minority denies this. There's not much point in giving them the attention they seek, they'd better be ignored.

I heard about this rumor before. Supposedly, his doctor's degree can not be confirmed because there is no document that says so. It's bullshit if you ask me.

Does it really matter? Che doesn't need a piece of paper to show the world that he was a doctor. He served as a doctor through the Cuban revolution and was good at it. That should be enough.

Comrade!
I totally agree with you. Che was one of those few people who were actually effected by the poverty of the people and really wanted to improve their lot.
Fidel was a smart man so he would have have known whether or not to recruit an unqualified doctor.
It was unfortunate he had to give up his practice to fight along with the Cubans.
It may raise a question that, did Che leave medical practice for revolution because he was only mediocre.
I have read in many of biographies that Che was a good student and after taking a tour of Latin America and seeing all the poverty, he was inspired to excel in his studies.
This is a grey area in Che's life and unless some hard evidence is given to reveal the truth, it will continue to malign Che' image.

I totally agree with you man, but you know how people are: They always want some kind of proof in everything. Just look at Clinton, they had to discover a dress with traces of semen for people to believe that he really had sex with Monica. Everyone wants proof, I don't think the same though. I don't give a crap if he had a medical degree or not, he excelled in fields like fighting for the marginalized of the world. That's higher in my list than a stupid medical degree.

To my understanding, Che did NOT achieve his medical degree. He left for his first journey throughout Latin America only a semester before he would have finished his studies and graduated a doctor. However, his want for adventure got the better of him and off he went throughout Latin America. While he was in Guatemala, he left because the US government was being rid of the Guatemalen government. Therefore, in order to live, Che had to run. He fled to Mexico where he met Raul Castro and was later introduced to his brother, Fidel. And thus the legend begins.

all the while i also thought he finished his degree, though the posters above were correct, it doesnt matter if he earned the degree or not. :) a diploma couldnt accomplished what he willingly did for the people.
