In case people didn't know, someone created a Wikipedia page devoted to the Che-Lives/RevLeft websites. It is located at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Che-Lives .
I just wanted to let everyone know of it's existence and to call on everyone to edit it and update it for accuracy and true representation.

Whoever wrote it seems to have been a member before since the article mentions a lot of events that happened a while ago. I definetely think it needs editing, some of the writing is misleading.

Hmm. It's on a public page, so it would be wrong for us to influence it...morally, to our favor, but hey...Why don't we make a "soap-box" of our own? Like, a "Radical Wiki", y'know? Might even work out! Whaddya think? It could be worth a shot!

Maybe even literally

You mean like a leftist encyclopedia? Oh and by the way the informationb I added was objective, about the CC, how it now works.

Why was this part deleted before?

The Rebel Alliance

Logo of the Rebel Alliance

Around June 2005, calls for the Commie Club to be reformed or dissolved were increasing, notably by a group calling themselves the "Rebel Alliance". They wished to see power spread evenly among the ordinary members instead of what they saw as the elitism of the CC. They accused the CC of whispering about members behind their backs and claim that the current board structure does not reflect its leftist political positions. Several members of the Rebel Alliance, notable a former technical advisor, made their own personal proposals which could be seen as general outlines for what the Rebel Alliance advocates. Even several CC members have been swayed and have joined the Rebel Alliance forums.

Real controversy began when the aforementioned technical advisor used his root admin server access to change the member titles of all Rebel Alliance members to "Rebel Alliance". The CC were not pleased when they discovered this action. This technical advisor's access was revoked, but due to his knowledge of the server and a script he had left behind he was still able to make changes to board settings. This only furthered the anger of the administrators who saw this as a breach of trust and tantamount to hacking. There was little tolerance for the Rebel Alliance after this, and many Rebel Alliance members chose to leave to form their own board, The Rebel Alliance Forums. Others were banned. Upon the creation of the forum, the link to the new forum was censored on Che-Lives, instead linking to a site called "Monkey Alliance". Later the link was censored there as "http://####". The Rebel Alliance now has 125 members and growing.

-- that along with the external link to rebelforums was removed a little ways back. Rebel Forums attempted to get it's own wikipage, and people from revleft argued that it should stay a subsection of the Che-Lives page because it wasn't important enough to warrant it's own page.... now you've gone and removed it completely.

@ NovelGentry

Is there a reason why you're saying "you"? I didn't remove that at all.

Sigh... I knew that (Second handly), but I tried to make y'all believe NOT to.
Still, I said so only because I thought it was a good idea for you to have your OWN!
If you don't register there, still, you might have one that belongs to THIS site.
Not RedApollo or whatever that is. And it would be more of this site's views, and this site's visitors, not that one's. Unless, of course, you link to it. But Che-Lives is not Red Apollo and it won't be the same, I tihnk. They'd get a different perspective here, I suppose, with a wiki of our own. RevLeft-Wiki, anyone? Pinko!

It was a plural "you"... I doubt anyone outside of this site edits it, so it was more directed at the site as a whole.

I wouldn't be surprised if haters of the site edit it to. Many people would love to make this site look bad.
