just listened to "with god on our side" and it's got pretty good lyrics. anyone recommend any other of his songs that are left wing?

I love Bob Dylan
best artist of any medium of the latter half of the 20th century

Fantastic song, in fact it inspired me to start writing protest songs, of which I have many parodies now (don't like being serious :P).

It was actually given out in one of my philosophy courses last year. His early stuff is quite often political.

if you are just looking for political stuff, then you'll enjoy the albums "the freewheelin' bob dylan" and "the times they are a-changin'"
but if you are also looking to hear those songs that most people refer to when they call dylan a genius...try these albums "another side of bob dylan" "bringing it all back home" "highway 61 revisited" "blonde on blonde" and...i guess, "blood on the tracks"

of course, you've already heard the latter two, i just felt obligated to list them as my two of my favorites...

"The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carrol"--- Too powerful to comment. A must listen.

"Masters of War"--Bob was surprised at his own anger towards war profiteers.

"Ballad Of Hollis Brown"--A Workers Despair.

"North Country Blues"--A workers lament.

"Only A Pawn In Their Game"--Details the murder of Civil Rights martyr, Medgar Evers.

"Let Me Die In My Footsteps"- Anti War.
