Hi all...im new to this forum.

I would like to learn more about Che Guevara through more than films...I want to know about his life his beliefs and his passions.

If anyone has read any good biographies on his life pre-cuba could you please let me know the name of the book? I would also like to read about his famous motorcycle journey and maybe his diaries from bolivia.

Basically i want all the information i can get.

The reason im after this is because im extremely interested. I am Chileno and my father spent 13 months in a concentraton camp when he was 17 a few years after Che's death. He came from a very poor backround and Che was really idolised by him aswell of thousands upon thousands of other latin americans who believed in Che and all he stood for.
Might sound weird but all the help is appreciated.

Your father was in a concentration camp? Where? In Chile? Or do you mean like a gulag?

Well defintely get these books:

-Che Guevara reader: writings on politics & revolution
Basically its all his writings and speeches, from speeches to the Cuban people to letters to his kids and Fidel, etc.

-The African Dream: The diaries of the Revolutionary War in the Congo.
In this diary we see Che "humanized." He gets impatient and casts a doubt if a worldwide revolution is possible. He even had race problems with the Congolese and his black Cuban soldiers that went with him in the Congo. Really interesting stuff. Defintely get this diary.

-Guerrilla Warfare
Basically outlines Guevara's doctrine for a guerrilla fighters, especially against Caribbean-style dictators. This book basically reflects his deeply held belief that a small, rural-based guerrilla army could trigger a revolution. Remember it is dated so just read it as a historical document rather than a manual or blueprint.

I haven't read the Bolivian diaries, but I will.

^ Yeah thanks for correction.

The Che Guevara reader is a little expensive and bulky (like a college textbook) but it's worth it.

Also get the Marx-Engels reader. A little expensive too but a whole lot of information.

Fuck the John Anderson biography.. unless of course you like factual inaccuracies and outright fabrications.
Could you explain that a bit more CDL? The book isn't the best but it portrays him in a positive light and gives an objective analysis of Che.

Also, another work of Che's is Reminiscences of the Cuabn Revolutionary War.
