My name is Brian, I'm 17 and I reside in Florida. I am a Communist and a member of The Progressive Labor Party, or PLP. I joined RevLeft because I am always interested in debate and discussion regarding our philosophies and our struggle agianst the Fascist opressors. I see RevLeft as my outlet to express myself and where my Communist principles and values are not only shared, but my contribution to the discussion at hand is valued. I look forward to open, honest, & challenging debate and discussion. I am proud to be a Comrade in the struggle against exploitation and oppression. I want to apologize in advance for my gross spelling mistakes, my spelling and grammar are usually fine, but just in case I make errors in my spelling and it annoys or offends someone, I apologize.

Workers of world unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!
and now.........a message from my Party, The PLP: The two-stage strategy of first socialism, then communism, led back to capitalism. The Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, and China returned to capitalism because socialism retained too many aspects of capitalism, like wages and divisions of labor. We fight to be a mass party, not a cadre elite. The communist organization of society requires the active commitment of millions of workers who understand it, agree with it, struggle to advance its ideas, and vow to make it succeed. Communism means abolishing nationalism. One working class, one party, one world. Communism means abolishing racism by building multi-racial unity and internationalism. Communism means abolishing sexism. Communism means collectivity. No money. No wages. People working together based on their commitment to each other and to building a communist society, just as we do right now in the Party. Communism means the workers run every aspect of society. Everyone must be a communist organizer for this to work; we must all give and receive leadership from each other. Communism can be won only through armed struggle by masses of workers, soldiers, students and others, to destroy the dictatorship of the capitalist class and set up communism- dictatorship of the working class

Thanx for the heads up, I appreciate it. But my music does tie into my ideology, so If I have to defend one, I'll probably wind up defending the other. If u wanna get to know me better, send me a message.

The same reason a person would want to take photos, it's just something people do.

Thank you comrades for your generous welcomes. You guys are right, it's just something I do, and the music I listen to. Ever since I began to study Communism, I've always identitfied with The PLP. It's a shame they're not bigger, I think if everyone gave them a loook and considered thier views, they might identify with them like I do.I have Charlie up in Canada to thank actually, he turned me on to revolutionary and Communist ideology.

Welcome to RevLeft. Out of curiosity: how do you feel emo music ties into communism? I'm just curious, always been interesting in the ties between politics and pop culture.

Emo just fits into revolution and Communism. It's about struggle, rebellion, and breaking the chains of repression; even if these things are personal or emotional. It's hard to explain really, to me they just fit, I wish I could explain better or be more articulate, sorry.

what are you talking about, most emo music just seems to be whiney rich kids, who's parents got them a record deal, whining about something. No offense or anything i'm probably wrong, but please give me an example of some ego music that isn't just a whiney kid and his corporate record deal.
