Ok, i was reading on sf.indymedia.org, and i came across this:
"ANY of you who sit down and organize with the WWP (the real people behind ANSWER/IAC) are sitting down with advocates of mass murder, as they are supporters of kim il sung, the massacre at tianamen square, milosovic, and, yes, saddam fucking hussein."
does anybody know anything more about this? does this statement have an validity? it came from a user, and not the site, so im not sure how reliable it is. the user then goes on to say that they have "EXTREMELY VIOLENT AUTHORITARIAN ideals." i hope someone can please bring me some more information on this.

Who are ANSWER/IAC?
It is evident that if ANY of us who are rallying behind the government policies of the United States, United Kingdom, Spanish, and./or the Israeli Governments – are advocates of mass murder.

CTL: International ANSWER coalition is one of the main groups organizing the large anti-war protest across the world.

What is so terribly wrong about supporting the DPRK (Kim Il Sung)? Anti-imperialists must show their solidarity with nations that are potential victims of imperialism, especially when they are socialist states trying to do something new, something different.

thursday night: the main thing im concerned with is supporting overly authoritarian leaders. the thought of my enemies enemy being a friend is not one i support.

korea is just speaking up for years of opression against them by the US Goverment, South korea is controlled by the US but the north isnt, they are trying to reunite but the US wont let them becasue it would spoil their plans of golbal domination. Kim II Sung is kind of a dictator but at least he has the guts to rebel against imperialism

The efforts of our enemies to portray us as "allies" of "evil" should simply be ignored...passed over with the silent contempt they so richly deserve.
This war is not about the regime in North Korea; it is not about the former regime in Serbia; it is not about the individual whose name is Saddam Hussein; and it is certainly not about the Leninist sect called the Workers World Party.
It is about U.S. imperialism.
Are you in favor or are you opposed?

if you look into the practice section, under the threads i have started there recentley, you will see that i have participated in these protest, and am clearly against this war. im going to an emergency meeting in an hour to discuss what we are going to do as an organization if war breaks out. i was simply wondering if their is a legitimate connection, as stated in my first post of this thread.

I have heard of ANSWER and have been on their website very times. I have heard people say that they are very militant, but I dont think that is exactly a bad thing. I consider it be a good quality and i think most of us would consider ourselves to be very militant in our beliefs. They fight against war and racism, which is great. They may take some drastic actions, but in a cause such as war and racism one could not expect any less. People feel the same way about ANSWER like they did about the Black Panthers- threatened. I could be wrong however, this is just my own opinion.

I like what Int. ANSWER is doing. They are the main ones behind pulling together all the protests against the war. They have chartered many many buses in areas that don't have any mobilization and have gotten these people to DC and back again several times. At the same time they are not pushing their Worker's World Party on anyone. I think they have managed to keep them as entirely separate things. In fact, I knew about both individually and didn't know that ANSWER was a subsection of WWP until someone pointed it out.

I absoultey agree. South Korea was under right-wing military dictatorship for over 40 years. It still has many political problems. In addition, the American occupation is illegal.

well said Paris. i agree with you completely. they have kept the WWP and ANSWER stuff so seperate that i didnt even know until somebody mentioned it to me and i went to look a little further into it.
they do bring out plenty of people, my only concern (which sort of left me now) was that they went by the book of protesting too much. all of the functions i had been to that they sponserd and organized were legal marches with legal speakers, with parameters we were not to go past. however, when i was in San Francisco on thursday, they started off legal, and then they took over the streets. they help to lead a huge unpermitted march all over San Francisco, and i dig that.
