Do you have some background info on the struggle?

Look it up. If you don't know about a struggle that's been going for decades you need to do some studying.
I support the struggle of the NPA, though I don't agree with them on many things. I also aknowledge that there support isn't very strong in most of the country.
We have comrades there in Luzon, and I've learned alot about the history of the struggle from the Huks on through them.

Arent you the same guy who doesnt support FARC? I dont think your gonna like any guerilla movements, so you might want to give up finding one where the rebels shoot flowers at people.

WUOrevolt:here is a very good website about the NPA and the CP which they are the armed wing of. Fillipino Revolution Site (http://www.philippinerevolution.org/index.shtml)
Actualy the NPA differ quite alot from the FARC considering the methods they use. FARC have taken innocent hostages for ransom while NPA policy is not to harm the people, since the people is who they serve. also the NPA follow a strict over 18's register for members.

FARC dont answer to the people? I'm pretty sure FARC has an 18 year old age to. All these people claim child FARC fighters yet I've never seen evidence of it.

While one can't help but be impressed with the revolutionary heroism of these third world guerilla movement, one does question the effectiveness, or indeed the purpose, of a rural guerilla movement in a country in which 30% of the population is involved in industrial production.
I fear the hand of Maoism on these things. I don't want to replicate Mao's China anywhere.

Who was that aimed at?
And yes, FARC has 'child soldiers'. Almost 25% of the army is made up of people under 18. I have no problem with a revolutionary army allowing people under 18 to fight for their own liberation, the same way I love the fact that FARC is over 30% female.
Keep in mind in Colombia the age of consent is 12, and Colombians are considered adults at 14. If they can go work on a farm, why can't they work to overthrow capitalism?

Indeed. The West has a concept that people under the age of eighteen are entirely incapable of thinking for themselves, then at age eighteen they mysteriously gain infinite powers through knowledge.

It was directed at the person who started the thread, I know you support FARC. I also agree with your opinions on age. :)
