i think we need to get workers for computer companies such as microsoft to turn revolutionary, then we shall have the crux of the rest of the revolution. i heard not so long ago that google were working with china to bar the word "democracy". the internet is the new crux of the revolution. it will happen sooner or later.

yeah the internet is the most prominent battleground for the minds of the poeple.
redstar2000's site was the first proper introduction with marxism i had (thnx redstar)

even though most of the communist website's are very rare to just bump into unless you are looking for it.

Microsoft and Google also works with the Chinese government on censoring.

Microsoft censors blogger for Chinese gov't (http://rconversation.blogs.com/rconversation/2006/01/microsoft_takes.html)

Google agrees to censor search results in China (http://www.cnn.com/2006/BUSINESS/01/24/google.china.ap/)

The internet is becoming a more and more dangerous place for people who oppose the status quo. Unless things start to change, there will soon be little freedom of speech on the internet I feel. Hopefully some of the tech-heads responsible will start to wise up to their bourgeois masters.

its without a doubt that the internet is being fractured into the domains of corporations.
my guess would be that active censorship will be a reality within 5 years.
(but pornography will remain because money is being made there)

but censorship will only be effective if they manage to crush the warez section that create and maintain countless distribution systems like P2P networks and ofcourse the .torrent and newsgroups.

i consider the softwhare pirates just as much revolutionary's as you komrades as they are currently fighting the softwhare monopolists.
its also a great source for controversial meterials though its reliability can be qestioned.

Interesting. I once talked to a Maoist comrade in China through Yahoo Groups. I wonder if it could have been him...

Well I am mad at both. But most are not and that's because many in here are terribly biased.

the difference between the chinese is that they dont have a choice but to obey their government.

yahoo however has the moral obligation to refuse coöperating with the government.
and imo even has the obligation to warn the person who the chinese where after to run for his life.

Okay so that means that the Chinese government is all ok and not doing anything wrong? This company is trying to secure its position in China as we can expect since companies are based on highest profit, not moral obligation of staying neutral or whatever else, their highest priority is making the highest profit possible.

The Chinese government is there to serve the people and serve the Chinese state, not locking down people if they have a certain opinion.

So yes you can point at the company as the bad guy (which they are) but you shouldnt ignore the Chinese government in this.

i never said the chinese where innocent.
its just that the avarage police officer has no choice but to obey unless he wants to end up in jail aswell.
Yahoo however can choose to ignore the chinese government because they can not be imprisoned because the dicission makers are not in china.

the difference is that yahoo choose to aid in the imprisonment of these poeple.

And who decided that the man should go to jail?

Yahoo however can choose to ignore the chinese government because they can not be imprisoned because the dicission makers are not in china.

The man imprisoned was a Chinese man living in China right? The company does whatever it has to to make the highest profit, including being a lapdog for a totalitarian and oppressive government.

the difference is that yahoo choose to aid in the imprisonment of these poeple.
Yup..they're both bastards...but still I dont see angry fingers being pointed at the Chinese government.
