Car Battery Problem

I need to unplug my car battery. The problem is that I backed into a pole and it undid some wiring and the lights won't go off. I checked everything and I think backing into the pole damaged the wiring somehow.

My Quantum Electrodynamics is alas no good :o what exactly am I supposed to do to prevent being electricuited?

Just remove the battery, plus 12.6 volt are not enough to cause the amps to go through your body and kill you so you would be alright.
