Hello, I live in Montreal, and I'm interested if any others come from the same area... or even the same half of the country.

Well I don't know if there are any members from there, but you may wish to consult this thread....

....it has a list of Canadian groups if you are looking for one to join.

Hello Ernest,

if you're living in Montreal, there are three groups I would suggest:

the Revolutionary Communist Party (Organizing Committees) (http://www.pcr-rcpcanada.org)
the 'Drapeau rouge' newpaper (http://www.geocities.com/ledrapeaurouge)
the Red Youth Front (http://www.frontrouge.org)

These 3 are the only real communist groups in the area, since the others claiming to be 'communist' (like the CPC & CPCML) are stuck in reformism and bourgeois legality.

As for their upcoming events, the RCP(OC) is now launching the speaking tour of one of its activists who just came back from Nepal's Red Zones (posted here (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=45998) on RevolutionaryLeft). For the moment, the dates announced are in different Quebec regions, but at least one Montreal conference will be organized (as well as some others in Ontario).

As for "Le Drapeau Rouge", I heard that their office is under renovations, but in a few weeks, they plan to organize a weekly event where activists can watch a leftist movie and then discuss about it (I think it will be every Friday evening).

And in the end, the Red Youth Front is re-organizing its Montreal section, and preparing their participation in the March 15 demonstration in Montreal. You get details about their meetings by writing at [email protected]

Altho I belong to the CPC I really like RCP(OC).

Montreal is a good place to live. There is a lot going on there in terms of activism I hear. I'm considering finishing university at UQAM.

I have some friends down there, at McGill or working. A couple are involved in the Young Communist League (www.ycl-ljc.ca). Also there is a Communist Party club there. The website is here: www.communist-party.ca, so you can draw your own conclusions. And http://pcq.communist-party.ca is the Parti Communiste du Québec (also a part of the CPC). Le site-web qui sera meilleur bientôt, mais en attendant Clarté (le nouvelle du PCQ) a quelques bonnes articles si tu es francopohone. :)

I took a gander at RCP; I like what I see there. Their trips to Nepal look very, very interesting. I'm already considering volunteering.

And I know that I'm far from alone in my communist beliefs. There are a surprising number of Cape Bretoners who support socialism and communism. I think that with a little work, the cause could really gain a strong following here.
