Is it ok to ask for a raise? As many know you still need to work to feed yourself and as of late our pay has not adjusted for any inflation of the sort. Food is more expensive, fuel is more expensive yet we make the same amount of money.

(the raise is for the whole group and not me solely)

So if it is ok I have another question.

Can somebody help me figure out a very direct non job threatening manner in order to do it?

A few people have come and asked me to do this and I decided to attempt it, i just do not know if it is ok or not.

Thanks :)

Are you guys unionized? If not go to, www.iww.org

They will help you with all that stuff, but for imediate help there are many unionized workers on this board who can help.

I am a Slave to the Rich.

Currently the client I work with is Sotheby's. You know the posh auction house in which i am given pieces of information pertaining to some of the richest people in the world ;)

Anyways we make less then 8:50 but have to deal with people who spend more money then I make on a mth just on catalogues..

You should keep track of that information, especially anything that might make your employer or his/her wealthy clients look bad. You could potentially use it against them, if you need it. Just don't let anyone know what your'e doing, as you could potentially get trouble.

Like others said, you should talk to the IWW or some other union. Read their materials and it may help.

What types of information do you think I should pay attention to? Such and typical spending figures on art? like 15 thousand for a fountain pen that wen to Bill Cosby?? That sort of sickening stuff?
