What does everyone think of the band Against me? Personaly i love their music and think there new album is their best yet, but they are selling out. They have been starting at stadium concerts for f***ing greenday and are going to play at warped tour this summer despite saying they never would just a few years ago.

Do you give a fuck if they've signed to a bigger label? Cause I sure as hell don't - it's all about the music

i totally dig them. and as long as they don't change, i don't care if they make a little more money and a few more people get exposed to them.

Yes I give fuck that they signed to a major label, their fucking sell outs! I listen to lots of bands from majr labels, thats not the issue its that Against me was originaly apposed to all that shit. They're anti-mainstream. Yet here they are sellling out what they beleive in and what their original fan base believes in. Their selfess turncoats. As further proof of that they are pulling their original alblum, Crime, off of planet X records crippiling an already small and weak indie label. Yes they have great music but they're sellouts. How can you support anyone who's only in for the money and dosen't have a spine.

If you didn't like them before they got signed to a major:
1/ You never heard them
2/ You have bad taste in music
3/ You are lying

Yeah, Against Me seems to be a pretty good music band. They're also the pride of Gainesville, Florida.

I could have seen them this Friday, but couldn't be fucked. Thought they were kinda sellouts and all.

What do they sound like anyway? I've heard they are good, but don't think I've actually heard them.

I gotta be honest, their new CD is total shit. It doesn't have the same raw, intense, human feel to it like Reinventing and Eternal had. Seriously, how can you listen to "Don't Lose Touch" and say that it's their best album yet?

My friends band played a few shows with Against Me! in eastern europe last summer on their tour. They played numerous anarchist squats with them. i don't know if green day still does that or not.

I remember I saw them years ago just after they signed to fat and i talked with the lead singer for a while about the move. they're largely interested in playing their music for as many people as they can. they seem sincere enough. but the whole issue of "selling out" strikes me as so juvenille anyway. who the fuck cares?

i thought that you were against mainstream
warped tour is definately mainstream
i went last year
bunch of posers went who only go to see the extremely popular bands
i saw a bunch of people with lacoste shirts and abercrombie stuff also
im not going this year just because i dont want to be surrounded by a bunch of posers, not because i dont support mainstream music.
If its good, its good. :D

I went to a concert of theirs a couple of months ago. It was completly packed, could hardly move. Alot of supposed anarcho kids showed up. I don't remember everything; drank a bit before and was kinda not paying paying attention to anybody, just listening to the music. I remember i saw some kid with a IWW pin and asked him if he was a wobbly and he said he didnt know what i was talking about. Then i said, "your pin, are you in the IWW" and he was just confused.
I pretty much decided it was the first and last concert of theirs that i would go to since they are now regularly on the mtv.

Warped tour is sweet because it is more personal then any other show you'll ever go to. You can actualy talk to the musicians. Not to mention it gives no name bands exsposure and the broad fan base they need to take off. This time last year no one had heard of Bedouin Soundclash, now they're huge.

As for those of you who were dissing former clarity, learn to play fucking music. The new album is much more complete cohisive and clean. And why compare it to reinventing and eternal cowboy if you likr their older stuff, Crime and the acoustic EP blow those two away.

Warped Tour is lame. If Warped is the most personal show you've ever gone to, then you've never gone to a real punk show.

I'm serious.

I've been to "real" punk shows, and yes you come away stinking like everyone elses sweat, but i've never been asked to help out at the tent and taken for beers after at one of those shows. Warped tour gives you an oppertunity to realy conect with the musicians show them what the Canadian scene is realy like and get them contact info for a local club so you can have subsequent "real" punk shows. I recomend anybody and everybody just get over the little possers (who will be their) forget about the capitalism of it all, and just go for the music. It's a sampler of almost all punk you want to hear, and who knows maybe your band could score a slot on one of the smaller stages(a friend of mine did)
