Look at the South Korean's negative attitude to the States.

That's interesting.

A lil difficult to understand, but I get the point

Those are percentages, right? (influence polls)

Just out of curiosity did anyone here happen to participate in this poll? There are always alot of poll results floating around, and I have to say nobody has ever asked me or anyone I know any questions.

The Bush administration has succeeded in alienating Canada---now that takes real effort and genius.

I find it interesting how few latin american countries participated in this poll. And how come there is no section on canadas influence?

This poll is obviously american and they're obviously trying to say that Canada as an international power has zero influence. ;)

It says "BBC Poll" which would indicate Great Britain correct?

Anyways, as has already been implied...this is most likely BS.

Word. Up until the most recent invasion of Iraq, Canada was like the U$'s little brother. Every time we invaded someplace, Canada hopped up and down shouting, "Can I come? Can I come?" To reverse that attitude has really taken some doing.

Yes. I've seen it in other polls too.

Also: Japan is viewed positively....except by nearby South Korea and China.

But in contrast China is viewed more positively by its neighbors - even India who it's had a border conflict with - than by European and North American countries.

Anti-US nationalism has been on the rise in Canada for years. There have been numerous trade conflicts, and open nationalism has infected most of the left there. And now the Bush administration has carried out trade-war measures to punish the Canadian bosses for their verbal opposition to the Iraq invasion. A softwood tariff, and a ban on beef imports under the pretext of fighting Mad Cow Disease IIRC.
