Hate Your State

Has anyone else noticed that there is one enormously telling piece of American 'democracy' that pretty much blows away the idea of checks and balances?
Every single politician in the American government is elected. The Senate, the House of Representatives. There has been a certain change in this system. Bush won that election unfairly, if they were democratic Bush would not be in presidency.
Also, the only part of your government with power right now are the immediate advisors of Bush, which are consequently the only appointed officials in the country. That's not democracy, it's a blatant oligarchy masquerading as democracy.
Something should really be done about that hideous flaw.
