here's a short poem i wrote for Black History month in dedication to the BPP

Power of the Panther
-Rabbit

Did you hear about the panther born in 1966?
The panther that was so cunning that it never fell for any lies or tricks.

The one that was born with a clenched fist and a beret on top of its head.
“All Power To The People” was its powerful roar, it would scream that even when all words were said.

The panther with the pride and power to change a nation.
You will never see it dead, nothing can stop it now, not even the oppressed American nation.

(*CRACK!*)

What was that? Oh, the panther has fallen dead, look at it rest its head.

Although the panther is gone, its memory will never be lost.
A proud people are still here because it paid the cost.

When the people question the true reason for its existence, just remember three words and you will find the answer.
Perseverance, Power, and Pride, that was the Panther.

Although I like the poem, Black History Month is a sham. Not only should every month be Black History Month, but February is the shortest month of the year, seen?

i like it and i don't like it. I like it because it brings awareness to black people and is a month of education. On the otherhand, where is the Native American history month? Or the Asian American month? I have the same argument with the gay pride parade, I like how it educates people about gay people but where is the straight pride parade?
