best to read the writings of marx. i know it's heavy going. there was a quality little cartoon/comic strip someone posted a few days ago that was really helpful to me and explained it quite well. i can't remember where it was posted though :(

I beleive you are referring to http://www.prole.info/introduction/intro_0.html, which is excellent. I can't remember who posted it originally though (sorry whoever you are). I'm thinking of writing some explanatory pamphlets for my area, possibly even a "Tower of Babel" style short story set post-revolution, I'm not sure yet (by the way, I haven't read all of that book, is it any good anyone?).
Anything I do make I'll be sure to stick up here for C&C. Also papillon, look at all the Pinned threads in Learning and the other forums, there's some good stuff there :)

One thing that I notice to help a lot for things like Marx, Newton, etc. is to re-write what they are saying in modern terms that you can understand. Go word by word even! That's what I did for Das Kapital and it makes a lot more sense.
However, that was the fourth time that I read it that I started rewriting it word by word, so that may have helped as well.
Give it a shot. It may take a lot of time, but you'll understand it better than the back of your hand!

Ooh, nice idea Comrade Red :) I thought of doing a characterised short story because most people don't like reading learning texts, even well-written modernised versions :( Not to belittle your work by any means, and if its okay with you I'll suggest it to people who ask me for further readign, but I want something that will hook the common person onto the idea of Communism; then hopefully they'll want to learn the theory.
Also, I like writing things.
