I think thats a misconception about us, Justin Sane says. I grew up around politics. It was just part of growing up for me. It was a lifestyle. My parents were radicals. They were involved in the anti-nuclear movement. I pretty much grew up around going to protests as a kid. My dad is from Northern Ireland. He was very involved with the movement to remove the British occupation of Northern Ireland . Thats just a part of who I am. On the other hand, the misconception is that Anti-Flag arent artists. Theyre just some political dudes who play music. I think thats just not true. I think that art is really, really important for all of us. Writing music and playing music that we think is well crafted and performed well, those things are important to us as well. I think both things are equally important and they definitely go hand-in-hand. Again, as artists and activists and human beings, were writing about the things that really move us. The things that really move us are these political kinds of things.

:D

Up the Anti-Flag IRA!

Rock on man. They are comin to town in April, and its a cheap show so I think I'm goin. Saw them live at Warp Tour 04, damn good live show, most fun I've had in a pit lotsa energy, lotsa message. I remember most distinctly "Any one here apposed to the Bush regime, and his fucking war put up your peace signs" an entire crowd of teenage punks stops moshing and every one of 'em puts it up, i have a picture, it was cool.

Who really cares who its with. They have somethin to say, any way they can find to get it out to a wider group of people (i.e. using a bigger lable) is a good thing. Besides this is what they do for a living, unfortunatly sometimes to continue fighting the system you have to buy into it. Who knows, they may use this as a stepping stone, gather up what they can, and make a new bigger better indie label and sign up a buncha punks. (they did try this once already right, with A-F records?) Ultimately its their decision, whatever their reasons, if they still have the same heart and meaning and music, who gives a fuck?

The pic isn't digital, I'll try to find a place to scan it for me, this means I gotta dig through my summer pics. I'll work on it and see if i can't have it up sometime here soon.

Agreed, but this may chip away at the core fanbse a bit, some see their going to a major label as hypocritical. Meh, their loss I suppose.
