The best concert I've ever been to is when I saw them in Melbourne last December.
They are pretty mainstream industrial, but still pretty good, and have some progressive lyrics.
Their early to mid 90's stuff is their best industrial stuff, but for the industrial metal fans, they go for the newer stuff.

They're alright. Vastly overrated in my opinion though. In addition their new albums are terrible. WWIII was bloody awful, pumped out to cash in on trendy-lefty anti-war sentiment. Their older stuff was better, in a relative sense.
The only song of theirs that I really like is 'glory' which is on Angst.
Laibach, Einsturzende Neubauten and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult are far better.

How many more threads do we need on KMFDM, can we just sticky it so no newcomers create a new thread everytime?

Nine Inch Nails isn't pop, i'm not the biggest fan of them but i know that Trent Reznor started Marilyn Manson off in the music industry

I wouldnt really call NIN industrial...sure they have industrial influences, but they are not industrial in the sense Ministry or Skinny Puppy are. I read various interviews in which other industrial artists called NIN pop...heck even Trent Reznor admitted he used a more pop music structure to his stuff.

That is not an explaination of why NIN isnt pop. Well music "scientifically" speaking most modern music is pop...including all your favorite rockbands ;) But yeah Trent did basicly create Marilyn Manson.

That's just part of a KMFDM concert...with most other bands its just concert and maybe luckily you might see the band if you would wait for many hours near the tourbus. With KMFDM its the bandmembers inviting everybody to the pub after a gig.

When referring to NIN as pop, usually it is in the sense of being "synth-pop".
I'm not sure this is entirely accurate, but rather, I see them as more "Industrial-rock". The pop structures that comes into NIN music in my eyes is derived from the rock elements infused in the music. I certainly don't think NIN are as danceable as they use to be.
The industrial I like includes: Ministry, KMFDM, :wumpscut:, Covenant, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, etc.
