View Full Version : What do you think about Communalism?

Communalism is the governmental ideology, (although not only an idea, as it has been adopted by small utopian groups,) in which the society is more important than the individual (the abverse of individualism). Community members help others survive and grow, while surviving and growing with the help others. I believe that it is an idea that could flourish if tended to.

Ask as many questions as you want, I would love to find answer, as I would like to experiment with it.

P.S., I will now use the term "I and I" instead of "you and I" in conversation. I got the idea from Rastafarainism.

Peace, brothers and sisters.

1. Communalism Is pretty much Communism, except communilism has some bull shit about dividing the races <_< I think we should clarify that.

2. "Govermental ideology" Something tells me you made that phrase up.

3. Why can't Society be a group of Individuals helping one another?

4. Experiment how?

5 Why use a pointless phrase from a supersition to try and assert the Image of us all being one?

6. I'd like to know what "small utopian groups" you are talking about? Because "Small Utopian Groups" sounds like a euphanism for "Suicidal Cult".

I think you are very misinformed.

I have the impression that it's a rather reactionary ideology -- a "watered-down" version of the Nazi idea of the "folk community".

It seems to have arisen as a reaction to the hyper-consumption of the super-rich...the bourgeois "default-value" that the more crap you accumulate, the more of a real individual you are.

Nazi ideologues were harshly critical of this view in the last years of the Weimar Republic; and modern "communalists" seem to have borrowed that critique.

Then why are you flaking me about it?

Where did you here that from?

2. "Govermental ideology" Something tells me you made that phrase up.

And?

3. Why can't Society be a group of Individuals helping one another?

Community members help others survive and grow, while surviving and growing with the help others.

I agree. That's why I'm a Communal Individualist.

4. Experiment how?

Explain.

5. Why use a pointless phrase from a supersition to try and assert the Image of us all being one?

Because I like the idea of all beings being a part of something, while still being ourselves.

6. I'd like to know what "small utopian groups" you are talking about? Because "Small Utopian Groups" sounds like a euphanism for "Suicidal Cult".

Actually, there are quite a few utopian groups in North America. Here's one:

I think you say that because you disagree with me and you want me to look bad.

Not for the Bourgeois.

If you really need to make yourself feel better by supporting suffering, I'm sorry.

I wanted constructive criticisism, and you acted in an Authoritarian manner. I'm really disguisted.

Why are you so negative? Maybye you need to get some freinds... have some fun.

Peace to all.

The most frequently used definition of "communalism" is:

"Strong devotion to the interests of one's own minority or ethnic group rather than those of society as a whole."

For some examples of how this works, see Sri Lanka, Cyprus, and Malaysia.

I was thinking of a different form of Communalism. Here:

I'm now thinking of Socialism.

No no no no no. This is a completely misleading approach.

Seeing "politics" as some "struggle" between "the individual" and "society" is dumb, and taking a "side" is even dumber.

I never said anyhting like that, so don't put it in quotes, please. I agree with what you are saying, but you are saying things that aren't pertanent to the discussion.
