Some left communist groups make a destiction between real fand formal domination. Formal domination presupposes absolute (ordinary) surplus value, and real domination presupposes relative surplus value.
"Relative surplus value presupposes that the working day is already divided into two parts, necessary labour and surplus labour. In order to prolong the surplus labour, the necessary labour is short-ended by methods for producing the equivalent of the wage of labour in a shorter time. The production of absolute surplus-value turns exclusively on the length of the working day, whereas the production of relative surplus-value completely revolutionises the technical processes of labour and the groupings into which society is divided."
Does the "equivalent of the wage labour" refer to an equivalent volume of labour, or equivalent amount of production?
