WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The cafeteria menus in the three House office buildings changed the name of "french fries" to "freedom fries," in a culinary rebuke of France stemming from anger over the country's refusal to support the U.S. position on Iraq.

She offered legislation this week that would allow the American cemeteries in France and Belgium to be ripped up so that the bodies of our soldiers buried there can be returned to "patriotic soil."

I believe that the Memorials to Canadian Soldiers at Vimy Ridge, Dieppe, Ypres, Passchiondale and other such places are thought as Canadian soil even though they are in France/Belgium.

We have a memorial to some Canadian soldiers near my home, some gorgeous maple trees, but I'm not sure if it counts as Canadian soil, I'll ask my mum!
