ok so i read the sticked thread on responses to cappies dumb comments. But i go to a large school (2000) with a somewhat liberal, moderate population. a lot of them are on the fence. what can i do to maybe get the word out about the cause effectively? as of now im trying to teach 3 kids at once about it. and i need a way to spread it more broadly. also, what kind of activism can i pursue in my school. and anyone got tips on creating an anti-recruitment campaign?

There have been a few thread on Anti-Recruitment in 'Events and Propaganda' which basically summed up stated that the best thing to do, is to fly post.
Generally speaking, that's probably the best option. To produce leaflets and posters linking to resource websites like this one.
Stickers, posters, Flyers, all kinds of media are useful. Maybe get in touch with some organisations and get a bunch of materials from them?
If you think any of these are particularly good, let me know and I'll help you turn the plan into reality.

I got busy with an anti-Coke campaign, so my senior year anti-recruitment plan didn't work out too well.
But I did some research in preparation. The American Friends Service Committee has some really good stuff for anti-recruitment. I'd suggest you jump on that. I don't know where you live, but this kind of stuff is radical enough with a bourgeois element that it doesn't alienate mainstream high schoolers (too much).
Yeah, hope that helps. Check out their website.

Posters, demonstrations, progress....
..It all beings with you just talking to people.
You can do it, just keep trying and make sure there is always someone to carry the flag of freedom after you've graduated.

point out the obvious
lend friends copies of the manifesto

does anyone have short, but explanative pamphlets, id love to pass some around. Well most of my teachers are very liberal already. You should have heard their lectures on American Imperialism pre-WWI and its parallelism to today. it was pretty good.

That's very cool. Where do you live?
I realize that the hardliners here are probably thinking that liberals are just as bad conservatives, but trust me, I'd do anything for one single liberal teacher. All of the teachers in the political sciences depeartment at my school are republicans or libertarians. There are I believe 8 teachers in that department. All of them uber conservative. It sucks ass. Sometimes I wonder if it's intentional...
Before you start thinking that I'm a reformist or something... listen. While the liberal ideology and methods are bullshit and don't accomplish anything for our cause, there is a major difference between liberals and conservaives, and that is that liberals will usually think about things before blindly defending the US and free market capitalism at any cost. Big difference, IMO.
And no, I haven't found any short and comprehensive pamphlets. I made a thread looking for some, but the only stuff I found were either not formatted as a pamphlet and way too long to make into a pamphlet, too wordy and not comprehensive to most mediocre US public school kids, and I even found one that was simple and already formatted like a pamphlet, but it was like 25 pages.
The offer of oral pleasure for anyone who wites or finds a good pamphlet for non-communists to learn about communism is still available.

I concur. I was a liberal until becoming even farther left, a communist. Liberals have minds that are more open to new ideas and logic, as a generality.

same with me. and i agree with RedZepplin, alot of people complain about liberals or achievments in society that are leftist...but in my opinion as long as its moving left, its moving toward the fall of capitalism. every small step counts IMO. I live in fayetteville arkansas by the way...not whatd youd expect in the bible belt but its a pretty liberal town.

I like to call it "Blink182/Green Day"ism:
A lot of people hear these crappy punk bands and are like "sweet". Then, as they listen more and join the subculture, they realize that Blink182/Green Day are terrible, and that real underground punk is kickass.
Liberalism is the gateway drug to radicalism. Smoke it until you find better shit!
And liberal teachers can be a TREMENDOUS help at a high school. Particularly the ACLU types. They'll support you for awhile, but they won't join any sort of radical stuff. BUT, even then, they'll (usually) defend what few rights students enjoy when you get in hot water. It's sweet.
Unless they're sellouts. Then you're screwed.

^ yea my teachers are currently protesting an act that would cut back on the avilability of AP courses at my school. and i see them at peace rallies and what not around town. But the "greendayism" is true. i started out with Rage against the machine, they opened me up to farther left bands and then that greatly impacted my personal politics.

Of course it's intentional. If the system didn't favour the propagation of right-wing "ideals", we would all have a much more diverse population of teachers, not even to mention that we would have access to educations of MUCH higher quality (this is especially true in the US, where the education is deteriorating at an alarming rate) .
Anyway, the sooner they shoot you out of school, riddled with right-wing ideas about economics and politics, the sooner you become a mindless working drone, spending the rest of your life creating value for the Capitalists that run the system.
It is not just coincidence. They know that if you teach the people, they will learn. The last thing they want is any type of "informed electorate", and especially not a "Class-Conscious Proletariat" :o
They're going to keep us as ignorant as they can for as long as they can. I bet that if Bush could personally screen every teacher, he'd fire every single one that seemed even the least bit "Liberal" (and would surely replace them with Christian fundamentalists).
Anyway. My two cents.
