I am in my highschool's Model United Nations Club, and in a few weeks I will be representing China in a model UN committee on women's rights at our school. The conference will be attended by over 400 students from other high schools in our region and will be a big factor as to whether or not I am selected to go to New York to represent our school for the club.

Now from the begining let me state that I am not here to defend nor support China's stance on women's rights, but to find ways which will aid me when I do have to defend it in our forthcoming committee, Even if you disagree with China in this scenario please respond if you can formuate a way to make their stance seem noble and just. Also feel free to post links to id me in my research.

Thank You
-Mitch

I will assume that you are representing the People's Republic of China. My advice is that you keep in mind that women's rights have improved greatly since pre-1949. Arranged marriages and footbinding have been abolished and women have a much greater amount of control over their lives than before, particularly in the cities. After all, Mao did say that women hold up half the sky.
