anyone seen it?

i watched it on the plane, and i missed the first 20 minutes, and i was all drugged out and sick, but i still loved it.

am checking around to see if it's still showing at cinemas, otherwise i'll have to wait for the dvd to come out so i can watch it properly.

What's it about?

basically, it's about a diplomat and his wife, an activist, who travel to kenya where she starts investigating the testing of a drug to cure tuberculosis on AIDS victims and other kenyans who need medical treatment. she's killed, and her husband starts to investigate her death, and comes acrosse her research on these drug companies who were doing the testing. he wasnt at all interested before and told her she should stay out of it, but then he gets intrigued and discovers all these things. i won't spoil it but the ending was really good [i thought anyway]. it's based on a book with the same name.

bloody multinational pharmaceutical companies >:(

It is an amazing film, saw it the other day, I was actually about to start a topic on it when I saw this one.

Does anyone know if any of the things that go on, eg giving a harmful TB drug to AIDS patients unwittingly, or scenarios not far removed from them, are true? Does this kind of thing go on in Afric? If so any links would be welcome.

Check the film out if you saw City of God, it's by the same director. If you haven't seen City of God. Go. See it now.

I just saw The Constant Gardener a few days ago. Great movie, I highly recommend it. I would have to say that I like City of God better though.

We are talking about City of God, that film with Nicholas Cage (woo!) and Meg Ryan and the angels and stuff? I only watched it once, way before my communist enlightenment, but I didn't pick up any lefty undertones. Hmm, I'm going to have to watch it again.

We must be talking about 2 different City of God's. I am talking about the indie film about young people growing up in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. Most of the main characters friends take the route of drugs and crime, but he becomes a photographer.
