before i begin i waould like to stress, that the subtitle was written because Israel is a jewish state and the majority of citizens of israel are jews, and i am not anti-semmantic.

One sign is that there is a bill that is trying to be passed in the knesset that will make the palistinians wear an armband or somthing along that lines that will identify them as such.
Is it just me or does that seem eerly familiar to what happened to the jews in germany in the '30's and '40's.
The israelis have become those that they hate the most.

Then why don't you change the subtitle and say "Israel" is committing it, or even "the Jewish state." "The jews" necessarily implies that all Jews everywhere are doing something together.

Not even - maybe not especially - all Jews in Israel are in agreement on the occupation.

In fact, I'm changing it for you. Please don't do it again.

News to me. Source?

In any case, "2nd holocaust" is crying wolf. There is no mass extermination of millions of Palestinians.

The closest real danger is a second Nakba - the mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland. "Transfer", this proposal is called in Israeli politics, though only the ultraright fringe openly advocates it.

Palestinians are currently being expelled from more parts of their homeland as the massive system of walls and fences is built across the West Bank. And the practice of making life as miserable as possible for Palestinians, could in a sense be described as a sort of slow Nakba, encouraging emigration.

lol so cute!

to jaster:
please don't use the word holocaust [because it isn't one] or Holocaust, as that refers to a specific event in history which is not remotely reflected in this situation. i am an intense supporter of palestinian liberation, but sensationalist propaganda ain't helping none.

and please, get your anti-semetics outta here :)

holocaust is actually a generic word, this is not exactly it but it pretty darn close, it means a mass destruction ecpesially by fire, so you could call the destruction/deportation of the palistinian people a holocaust

but being made to wear armbands is not a symptom of that kind of a holocaust, which is what you're implying. in your original post you didn't make reference to the murder and deportation.

and besides its quite obvious you meant a Holocaust, as you referred to it as being the second one, and compared them because of the similarities in identification techniques.

(To Jaster)
I hate it when people use the Bush=Hitler and Israel=Nazi Germany arguments. It is totally without any backing whatsoever. A legitimate use of the word Holocaust would apply to the Shoah or the Rwandan genocide. The list goes on, but what's going on in Israel/Palestine is nowhere near the scale of a Holocaust.

P.S.

If English is your first language, would you try spelling a bit better?

Calling what is happening in Occupied Palestine a "Second Holocaust" is stupid, for obvious reasons.

What the Zionists have done to the Palestinian people is disgusting, condemnable, and indeed racist, but it pales in comparison to the Holocaust.

Such rhetoric severely detracts from efforts to show people the injustices that have been committed by Israel.

Be a bit intelligent dude.

I'm still waiting for a source on this supposed armband law. There's nothing about it on electronicintifada.net, which I would expect to have something if it was true.

it was a while ago during the al-aqsa intifada, and a apologize that i cant supply evidance but it just popped up.

and secondly, to intifada, i have great respect for your understanding of the israeli-palistinian conflict, but the point i was trying to make was that it was a sign, for instance, when jews were first required to wear armbands, the deathcamps had not existed or at least not in abundant numbers to qualify as death camps, but more as prisons. it could be the bigaining
so anyway, dosent anyone see the resemblance
this is also just like that one episode of the twilightzone where this neo-nazi gets help from the reincarnation of hitler, and the mans guardian happend to be jewish and he says somthing like
"we thought that no one would be crazy enough to follow them, we though they were a minority, then one day we woke up and they were a majority. and it is starting again today, we cannot think that today they are a minority"

Racist laws against the Palestinian people, including "Israeli-Arabs", have been in place since Israel was declared a state in 1948.

Indeed, Zionism is itself a racist ideology.

But, no "Second Holocaust" has happened, and I doubt it ever will.

There may be some similarities with what happened to the Jews and what is happening to the Palestinians, but like I stated before, the Zionists truly pale in comparison with the Nazis.

I stress that such rhetoric severely detracts from efforts to show people the injustices that have been committed by Israel.

As fucked up as the place is, I don't think another Holocaust would happen. What with the mass of media coverage on pretty much everything these days, I don't think a mass genocide could go unoticed or unopposed as it did in WWII (at least I hope not).

Well, if it's a while ago, then assuming it was real then it didn't pass.

Though much worse things against Palestinians have been done.

During the assault on the Jenin refugee camp, parts of Israeli public opinion were shocked...not by the killing of noncombatants, nor the levelling of people's homes, but instead 'cause some soldiers wrote on the arms of prisoners they were "processing". Reminded some Israelis of the Holocaust, y'know.

Which was ridiculous, of course - to get worked up about some accidental thing vaguely reminiscent of the Holocaust, rather than the real crimes against humanity taking place! Let's not imitate Israeli liberals in this.

I probably would've guessed it myself, but during the early 90's, with Bosnia and Rwanda, it was just a matter of people not caring.
In Bosnia, I think many Western countries didn't care about the genocide because many of the victims were Bosniak Muslim. In Rwanda, and I hate to say it, but many Western countries probably didn't care because it was Africa.
I wish the calls for 'never again' would've came true, but it seems like humanity has already let it happen again.

Im with severian here - lets judge the palestinian experience in its own terms.
