G'day everyone, I am loveme4whoiam, a student soon to be reading War Studies at Kent University (I hope), and experiencing the need to do some ideological reshuffling  . I have a fairly mixed bag of beliefs, and I'm hoping you good people can provide me with a place to air them, talk about them, and maybe solidify them through debate. Hell, while I'm introducing myself I may as well say what they are, it'll save time later :D .

*Stops typing as he noticed the Che Guevara watermark in the text area, very cool ;) *

Firstly, I came to the forum through your sister site che-lives.com, since I recently read Che's Guerilla Warfare, and wanted to find out more about the man. I've yet to make up my whole mind on him, since I've not actually read any biographies or articles apar from a Wiki one.

My political leanings are a bit convuluted. I think I'm somewhere on the right of true left (landing me somewhere among the Lib Dems  ). I consider Communism (by which I mean Marxism, I think) the ultimate form of sociological development, but feel that it cannot ever be implemented in its pure form due to the self-destructiveness of human nature and behaviour - instead you end up with a twisted version of Marx's vision like Stalinism or Maoism, and we all know how those ended up...

I'm a staunch monarchist, although for the life of me I cannot explain why. I think it's because I'm a romantic and a traditionalist, I don't know. All I know is that I can hear a dozen arguments, which I would agree with, against monarchy, but in the end I'd still support the system. Part of it, I think, is because I've lost complete faith with the political system of Britain (and the US, since the two are so hopelessly and infuriatingly entwined by current "friendships").

What else... oh yes, I'm extremely under-read - I've yet to fully read any of the important Communist manifestos, articles, or other literature important for a proper understanding of what you guys talk about here. The one writer whose works I know cover to cover is Terry Pratchett, in my limited opinion the finest observer of human nature of our age. Needless to say, I shall attempt to make up the deficite through my own study (possibly with any helpful direction by you good people ).

I think that's all I need to say really. If you read all of that I'm impressed  . I look forward to debating and resolving my confused ideology with you, and maybe even making a contribution or two to the forum.

Oh yes, just as a P.S: I think that religion, any and all forms of religion, are the sources of all evil and destruction in the world, and can site reams of historical evidence should you be so inclined to hear a rant. Hope to see you on the forums :D

welcome to rev left....just relize most the people on this board are communist and you may get somewhat 1 sided arguments from people. Other then that if you want a better grasp on communism start with http://www.marxists.org , there they provide a pretty good database of marxist writers and the things they have written. All in all i look forward to the debates

Cheers, I'll check it out :D.

The thing about the 1-sided arguments though is that I can provide the other side if I find myself disagreeing - that's why I like debating so much, they help to solidify thoughts you might have had but didn't understand. If you suddenly find yourself defending a point of view you didn't know you had, it's a pretty cool feeling.
