I was debating Communism with my sister the other day. She brought up Cuba and said that it's an "evil commie government." When I explained that Cuba isn't Communist, nor is it evil, she said something that I couldn't refute.

If Cuba isn't as evil as US propaganda says it is, then why are Cubans always fleeing the country and coming to America? What are they fleeing?

I'm No expert on Cuba, but the percentage of Cubans which actualy flee Cuba only makes up 1 percent of the Cuban population. I think this is due to people not able to make loads of money quickly and being able to live an easy selfish life.
Anyway Mexicans who flee to America on quite a large scale illegally is published but never are Mexico called 'evil' why is that you ask? Mexico will never be denouced by the US gov because mexico fits into the United States interests ie.Free market. While Cuba is a planned economy which doesnt fit into the united states interests, so the US tries to sway public opinion towards Cuba to make them look like the 'bad guys'.

Every one goes to America, doesn’t mean the rest of the world's nations are evil.

The simple explanation for that is, that all the people that flee Cuba is because of the US government that have blocked Cuba and made it impossible for Cuba to trade and help their economy, thus it is becasue of the US that Cubans leave Cuba not because of the evil that Cuba has (which by the way it does not have)

You see the weak minded people in Cuba leave to find fortune, to make money which i doubt they will find in the US. They leave to find a better future for themselves but when they leave they leave blamming the Cuban government for the poor status or bad fortune they and the country have, but what they should be doing is blamming the US becasue it is becasue of them that their country they leave is in the hole they are in. (mind you Cuba are slowly climbing out of it)

Keep in mind we should not forget the great (best in the world in my view) educational and health system Cuba has. I know a few people that have undergone treatmnt in Cuba for there illness which was difficult to find anywhere else.

IMO those who attack Cuba are easy to refute and deface

There are many points from which u can dismantle the propaganda that saturates their brains

But first off, u should honestly tell them that Cuba is not perfect, nor is it the greatest nation in the world
Despite my strong support for Fidel, the proletariat never made the next step into communism
And,as a result of the embargo-the fall of the USSR-hostility-and political mistakes, Cuba and its people have suffered

Now by the time u finish telling them this, they'll be more than happy
But then u drop the bomb on em

Despite Cuba's mistakes, Cuba has free healthcare, housing, and education
You can then cite the fact that literacy in Cuba is about the same in the US
In addition, the infant mortality rate in Cuba is lower than in the US
Anyone who wants to get an education can go to school, free of charge-even into the university

Racism is not as prevalent in Cuba as it is in the US
People live as brothers despite their skin color or class (kuz therez hardly classes, if u can call em that)
Exploitation is nonexistent, because everyone works in moderation, and the gov keeps close taps on how the workers are treated
No millionaires, no rich politicians, corruption is still there but Castro has begun to crack down on it

In addition, therez democracy
http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php...topic=44150&hl= (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=44150&hl=)
Contrary to popular belief, Fidel is not a dictator nor an authoritarian
He's voted in as head of the Council of State

Now as far as ppl leaving Cuba
Compare the numbers of Cuban's who've left Cuba for America
With Mexican's or Guatemalans or Salvadoreans who've left their respective DEMOCRATIC countries to go to the US
Cuban refugees don't even make up a fraction of Mexican immigrants

In addition, the majority of those who flee Cuba are greedy, white (Euro), cappies that rather advance their own interests than those of their countrymen
These traitors believe that they're better than Afro Cubans or ppl of darkers skin in Cuba, and deserve more than others

Therez many other reason why ppl leave Cuba, look it using the search function

The truth is with u bro, don't let them beat u ;)

Why are american doctors always learning in cuba?

Why did America plan to blow up an empty plane and say cuba did it?

So would you put it past the pentagon to get people to act as cuban refugees?

Cuba is however a stalinist country and i do not support it, but recognise its achievements. Such as having a hurricane like Katrina and not having a single recorded death. 600,000 odd moved to safety. Cos Castro Cares!!! hehee

Exactly. What's more, any Cuban who sets foot on U.S. soil is automatically given permanent residency under the 1962 Cuban Adjustment Act. If this was true of every country, imagine how many people would come to the U.S. for economic reasons.

This also explains why Cubans raft over rather than emigrating in some safer fashion. The rafting is immediately rewarded by the Cuban Adjustment Act; applying for a visa at the U.S. interests section in Havana...puts you on a waiting list.

Meanwhile, Haitian rafters have been sent back to the most murderous regimes.
