Well, to begin the whole concept of evolution doesnt really excite me, thousands of years we spent becoming perfect, at what we still havent figured that one out. Democracy,For the people,by the people,of the people, a cliche comment cause it never really is like that ever. for those who are still perplexed as to how democracy and evolution are related here goes - Democracy has evolved from what i tend to call the 'Power Syndrome' it allows power hungry people to fish for votes and rule the world. and how evolution fits into all this is proven by a simple thoery that was put forward by Mr.Evolution himself Sir Charles Darwin, he said only the fittest survive well as far as a democracy goes only the fit survive, ironical isnt it.
Probably i dont make any sense but id like to know what you think..
so post away!

Intersting comparison. But i find that demorcray is the reverse of evolution.
Evolution is adapting to ones surondings to make life easier and ultimately 'surivie.'
Vs
The developement of democracy, we went from hunter gathers to small setlements where co-operation ment surival. Democracy fails to keep its citezens alive, definaltly dose not make us comfortable and refuses to adapt to the surrondings of unrest and discontent.
How ever you could also argue monarchy-autorcy-democracy-communism-anarchy is a clear improvement of the political beast and a form of social evolutuion. either way i think your comparing apples and ornges with way to many parralels and inturpatations to make a good argument.

This is known as social darwinism and is a misinterpretation of Darwin's theories. The claim made by Darwin that "only the fittest survive" is misrepresented. When Darwin said this, he meant that the fittest will survive against their environment, not against each other. What this means is that animals adapt to deal with their surroundings, not to be able to better compete with one another. Animals are on almost all occasions cooperative with each other and are hardly competitive.

Exactly!
It is too common that people misinterpret what Darwin's theory is.
See, if a mutation in a creature helps it survive better, that mutation will be passed on to the offspring, and they will survive better, and so the creatures that don't survive as well won't pass on as many offspring.
Altruism is actually extremely common because it helps species survive.
