Why do people on this forum believe progressive change could only happen through revolution?

I think that is kind of narrow-minded and ignoring all other ways.

But it depends on the country, every country has different conditions and requires different solutions for progressive transformation.

The main appeal of revolutionary methods is that they might work.

"All other ways" have been tried repeatedly and have been abysmal failures.

It's not being "narrow-minded", it's learning from historical experience.

Please correct me if I am wrong redstar, dont most Marxists believe that natural progerssion will led to communism and most of them became Leninst after the Russian Rev. Are the Marxists making a come back in the 21st century or something? Thank You! I have learned so much from you and the rest here at Rev Left.

Well, there is one camp of "socialists" who believe that communism will come by "evolving" out of the capitalist shit hole. But this is little more than reformism at best.

On the other hand, we have Leninists saying capitalism will never collapse. Either through the parliament or through revolution, the "vanguard" must force "socialism" onto the country which will eventually somehow become communism.

Marxists, real marxists I mean, believe that capitalism will collapse but that does not mean that we should sit on our asses all day and wait for it. What it means is that not only do we have to agitate but also, when capitalism collapses, humanity will be faced with a choice between "humanism and barbarism". Marxists then have to insure that humanism is the choice taken.
