why did Stalin strongly reject Tito even going as far and putting an embargo on Yugoslavia? Even encouraging Purges against 'titoists' in the eastern bloc.
Cause to my knowledge later in Tito's life Workers where put in power of there factories instead of the state which was a huge achievment. And the standard of living in Yugoslavia was higher than that of any other eastern bloc country.
Was Stalin jelous?

The Stalin-Tito break happened because Tito refused to mindlessly toe the Moscow line. The exact quote is "We will not be pawns on a chessboard". It was not at all ideological- it was to do with geopolitics and the cold war. Yugoslavia wanted to be nuetral, not Soviet.

Yugoslavia under Tito was the only nation to defy Moscow and they remained independent of Soviet influence particularly pressures to join the Warsaw Pact. Tito became the first Communist leader to resist Stalin's hegemony over the Cominform and caused the Yugoslav Communist Party to be ejected from it in 1949. Furthermore, Stalin labeled Tito's ideology as Titoism and encouraged purges against suspected Titoists as a result of this. Simply put, Tito refused to kowtow to Stalin and their differences finally became irreconciliable.

Tito was a charismatic aristocrat. He was the sophisticated version of Stalin.

The most complete answer on this topic is Comrade Qui’s.
I say this because I had that “luck” to learn about history of my people(Serbian, one of ex-Yugoslavia contreys)almost my whole life, and I think that his answer says all in short.
Anyway, for more answers about Tito you can go on best web page about him: www.titoville.com
