Dear comrades;
I could never attempt to equate my financial struggle with those from oppressed Third World nations. And I know that many on the forum would classify me as a proletarian who is oppressing those in third world countries because I live in the U.S. and am exploiting even though I wouldn't think I am. (I know most working-class laborers don't ever realize this as they are caught up in their own situations).
However, let me explain that many of us in the 20,000 to 30,000 income with children are in real trouble.Houses are being foreclosed upon (possibly including mine), we live from paycheck to paycheck and haven't ever in twentysome years of marriage ever had any extra. We may be in a situation soon where we have no place to go but a shelter. This is a situation that many people I know including many senior citizens are facing. In fact, many of these older people have been freezing this winter. This is in the state of Pa. in the United States of America.
I hear many adults that I see sometimes on a daily basis wonder why working class people have been forgotten about in this country of plenty that we have none of. Ernesto---just a little progress report to let you know that everything here for everybody isn't always rosy and bright.

Hello Ernesto :)

, I wouldn't classify you or any proletriat as 'the oppressor'...most definitely not. As I read further on in your writing, it seems to me that YOU are the one who is oppressed, it doesn't matter whether your an American Citizen, capitalism is a vicious cycle.

I do not hold it against any proletriat (on a low-income, as they generally are) to buy sweatshop clothes and shoes, toys or anything else that other oppressed people are forced to make. Buying cheaper food, clothes or any other living requirements becomes more expensive if the conditions are better for the worker and for many working class people this is not very convenient...So just to make my point, it's not a proletriat's fault, like yourself, if you might buy something that is manufactured through exploitation.

I don't think any informed members on this board actually believe all American people are 'living like kings' or even living decently.

I am not a politician genious or philosopher but one thing I can suggest is to unite with other proletriats and raise awareness of the governments and employer's actions.

I am sure other members will be able to inform or suggest better than I have when they have the time!

Noah.

im sorry to hear how its going on your end and unfortunately or fortunately you are witnessing first hand the failures of capitalism. I also live paycheck to paycheck and alot of your american brothers are in the same situation. Be strong through failures like these it only strengthens our cause.....and i realize those words do not put food on the table but stay strong

Working hard to provide for yourself and your family is a noble cause and it is the pressures forced upon you which are the root of the oppression. In north america there are no other options or sources to sustain ourselves. This is how deeply the ruling class has integrated itself into our politics and ultimately our lives. Even if you wanted to consume from sources that weren't exploiting other nations, peoples etc... you would go crazy trying to find such a source. The consquence of avoidance would be the marginalization of oneself as the financial burden would be great and the lifestyle quite harsh. This truly demonstrates how we are all victims to the agenda's and pursuits of the selfish few who dictate their will upon us.
