I spent the Semester Break in Romania, and I am very annoyed at how the eastern Europeans are still infiltrated by anti-Communist dogma. The so-called Communist regimes in Eastern Europe were brutal, and so they all think that communism and socialism means all poverty and bureaucracy and no freedom, and they hate it. In Hungary for example they wantt o make the hammer and sickle illegal.
How do we get these people, who really are good people, just a lot of them misinformed, to know that there has never been a communist country, and that Communist country is an oxymoron?
In Romania they embrace American capitalism so much it sickens me. Anything with an American brand name makes you cool.
Anyway my question is, how do we go about convincing the people who have lived under "communism" to embrace real communism?
