At the first place I'll say hello to all my future cyber pals from this place.
I'm Senka and about two years I'm into Che's work, still researching about him, collecting, etc.
I would like to read from this place what people really think about him,so probably you'll find my name wherever is some discussion about Che.
Cheers people

Hi and welcome!
I'm also quite new on this board. Che's eyes, glowing with passion for the world revolution, move alot of people all over the world. :)
I'm curious: have you read the Che biography by John Lee Anderson? I can recommend it warmly!
Also: Every Che fan (and every revolutionary communist) should read Man and Socialism in Cuba by Che himself. Have you?
You can find it on www.marxists.org

I found it on this Russian website. The Matrix is a great movie! A lot between the lines there, for all of us who already swallowed the "red pill" ;)

Welcome to RevLeft
Although u will encounter many Che admirers here, the majority of us believe and are dedicated to a socialist/anarchist revolution to uplift the masses of exploited ppl
As such, if you're only interested in Che as a cultural hero or popular icon, this forum might not be for u
If you do not share or at least lean towards the majority of our member's politics, u might feel uneasy here, despite Che's overwhelming influence
With that said, I hope u let us know what your beliefs/politics are like
And, if u are undecided, I encourage u soak up the info in this forum and to forget about Che as a popular icon, and focus on his primary goal: an international socialist revolution

Thank you for comments people.
"TheSentinel" thank you for welcoming me.I'll look for sure about that biography because I head that lots of people are recommending it,unfortunately,I couldn't find that one in shops but I'll try again.Yes,I read "Man and Socialism", but thank you anyway :)
"The RedBanner",my real name is Senka, translated on english it means "shadow".Whole mistery is solved :)
Anyway,as for "Tekun"'s comments...
I am one really down to earth person and I don't idealise Che as saint or I think he's some icon or...whatever.I am really into his work(it will be 2 years now),reading all good and bad stuffs said about him or told by himself. This is only forum where I can find this much subjects about him and I found it great for my further learning about him.Nothing less, nothing more.
As for socialism...I don't know from which contrey you are,but mine was in socialism and it failed quite badly about 1990 but many think that was even earlier and nothing really good was from all that.Well, let's say that is one choin with two sides,as I think everything is.I am quite young to have some real political interest. But I really understand why you wrote all that, but I hope you can understand me too.If you have any further questions about this, feel free to send personal message.

I understand your position comrade
But as for being "too young" to have any political interest, I strongly disagree
You are never too young to know the truth, I encourage u to read some of the posts in our learning subforum, so that u can see that socialism isn't much of a political ideology, as much as it is an instrument to uplift the lower classes
Im glad that u don't idolize Che
Seeing how you say that u studied him, yet have no political interest
Why do u think Che fought in Cuba, the Congo, and in Bolivia?
Did he do it to fulfill his adventerous tendency or to uplift the oppressed?
I'll let u answer that
Regarding socialism, Im quite sure that socialism in your country failed not because socialism has flaws or is a flawed system
But because the West and that country's socialist "leaders" brought about its destruction or downfall
I come from Central America, Guatemala to be exact
And socialism, still in its infant stages, was destroyed by America in a 1954 coup which overthrew our popularly elected president and resulted in a genocidal dictatorship which was espoused by America
Socialism has never failed because it is faulty, rather it has failed because the ppl have allowed corrupt leaders to manipulate socialism and distort its original
principles
I hope that u stay active and join our ranks to destroy oppression and free the oppressed, through socialism

Some of us largely hate Che's authoritarian, some might say, anti-working class ideals.
but not all of us.

Well said, Tekun. Couldn't agree more.
Socialism was corrupted by egomaniacs, which cared just for their own good and selfpreservation, and not for the people and the transition to the communist society.
However, our crusade against the injustices of capitalism continues, bringing new adherents to join our ranks, following in Che's footsteps and ideals.
Hope you might feel the same way some day.

Oh without a doubt brother
Im a big admirer of Che, I just think we should focus more on why he fought, rather than on the actual man
Although the actual man, was very interesting IMO
But as socialists, our ambition is to uplift the oppressed, and if it takes Che's example to accomplish this, than I more than support it ;)

I would like to give reply on Tekun's post.
Yes,I don't have much interest in politic because where I live many politicians are just idiots, and if there's one who's good man he get's killed.I won't be mysterious anymore, I live in Serbia (ex Yugoslavia)and everything's clear when I say all that about politic(for one who's into Serbian history, but I have doubt that there are people interested...)so I know that many parents teach their kids:"stay away from politic".Sounds funny, but it's true. So,that's why I(and my friends)are not into politic.
Unfortunately,I don't see realistic way to change something about politic in my contrey.I guess there have to exist some socialistic organisation, there was one socialistic party but with Milosevic as president(try on google with Slobodan Milosevic),he was some kind of dictator,so...there are no real organisations for that. And everything that followed him is considered as "socialistic trash".
I am not sure how can I help with my thoughts when I'm connected with all you guys just through my poor internet connection.I'm writing this only because of Tekun's finishing sentence:"I hope that u stay active and join our ranks to destroy oppression and free the oppressed, through socialism".
I can't see what will change only through internet discussions ,without some real actions(I don't mean on revolution, maybe some other way to show people what we all think that's best for them?).Or maybe this(I mean on all this forum) is way to get more devotees?
Cheers

^Well, I respect your opinion and what u believe in
But, if you admire Che as much as u say u do, u should try to emulate his unconditional devotion to uplifting the oppressed (through whatever means u see fit)
I too come from a country with a history of corruption and death squads (Guatemala), in fact many of my father's friends were murdered by the US supported right wing government
But that does lil to scare me or alienate me from my duty to the people
I rather die for something I believe in, then die alone in a nursing home having done nothing for others or myself
Maybe u won't change your gov, I've almost given up on changing mine
But maybe u can help those oppressed, and then in the future, help others around the world who are subjugated by the evil forces of capitalism and liberalism
RevLeft was designed to bring together ppl who shared the same ideologies in order to organize and learn
Many of the members, including myself, are very much immersed in community service or political mobilization
So, Im not saying we're gonna change the world by conversing on this website, but what I am saying is that this website can help us organize ourselves, learn, and begin the movement
Join us sistah
With best wishes, Tek :)

Every now and then a new user comes along and asks: "How are things going to change
by posting some topics on an internet forum?" The answer is as logic as it is simple: It's not. That's why most of us, perhaps (and hopefully, but I cannot speak on everyone's behalf) all of us are actually helping, in "the real world", to make a better society and most of us are prepared or preparing for the revolution, should it occur that there is a time where it would be appropriate. I can understand you are scared of politics if politicians are being murdered, but it never hurts to discuss things on an internet forum, does it? ;) And even though it's not "official", that can also be considered politics. So, in short, I hope you stay with us, even trough a slow internet connection (dial-up?), and post and dsicuss much with us. ;)

Yes, lousy dial-up (45 kb/s!!)!But never mind.
I’ll stay with you guys of course, I was just interested to ask that questions and I love polite answers like yours no matter what you say in the post.Thank you for replying on my q’s.
Talk to all of you in this forum,
