A front page article in the New York Times today reported the Pentagon's plans for "unleashing 3,000 precision-guided bombs and missiles in the first 48 hours of the campaign. General Myers warned that the American attack would result in Iraqi civilian casualties...'But we can't forget that war is inherently violent,' he said. 'People are going to die. As hard as we try to limit civilian casualties, it will occur. We need to condition people that that is war. People get the idea this is going to be antiseptic. Well, its not going to be.'" ah yes, yankee response, 'they piss us off, we bomb 15,000 women and childre'..........bloody typical

and the american generals should know that war is not the bombing of cities, it is the conflict of two or more opposing armed forces, it has been since the time of the romans.

How did that thing go Lara?I've found out that it requires a very "cold" temper to do my job without bursting nor attempting to pick a AK47 and start killing bastards  I wonder how some pacifists can cope with things like this.

Real fucked up bastards.

We (leftists against war) must somehow try to mediacover the war. That will raise the resistance against the war and captalism.

I have this sick thought that we should allow this war to happen, protesting and the such, but use it as a basis for forcing change upon the government. Use the weakness of the Imperials to our advantage.

As a direct result of the "regime change" policies by the Bush clique, the Turkish military are back to their old habit of interfering in politics, taking one more step away from democracy and from EU membership.

One down. And the bombs didn't even start falling yet.

Keep your ears open for news from Turkey in the next hours and days.

Good point, I was really suprised that Turkey didn't let the US troops in. Especially because Turkey has such an authoritian government.
