Hi Comrades,

Do you think that there is a tendancy among Socialist/Communist groups to act in a Clanish-secretive manner?
Personally I think this is so.
I mean how often do you see Communist Groups or Socialist groups in your local high street handing out leaflets or stopping people and talking to them about Communism?
I have had the British National Party and November the 9th Society campaign in my local area but nothing from Socialists.
The most we have had is the Socialist Workers Party hand out leaflets in the high street but even they dont seem to want to chat with people or recruit new people. they seem content to remain in their little clan.

I dont know what things are like for Socialist and Communist activism in the US but here in the UK things need to get more serious and out of this clan mentality if we are going to have a chance at getting Socialism into power.

yea i have noticed this too (i live in scotland), and there doesnt seem to be too much participation , although there is some, mainly in protests but not of actualy mobilising the masses. Socialist Workers Party are probably low profile because they don't run in elections.

I live in Edinburgh, see action fairly regularly. I was in Glasgow yesterday and saw Stop the War and one of the SSP platforms out. I think the real problem is the fighting between socialist groups.
