Hello everybody!
I'm a finnish communist, living in Sweden. I've been reading the very interesting discussions and debates on this site for a long time now, and thought it might be time to say hello to all of you. I'd also like to thank certain members of this board for curing me of agnosticism. ;)
Their brilliant and razorsharp arguments against superstition have made me a pure atheist, and in that way actually changed my life. I admire Lenin, and would propably support a "vanguardist" revolution should one occur in my country tomorrow.
But I put little hope in the success of such, is it not preceded by an enlightment of the working class. Therefore I think educating the proletariat should be considered the main task of us communists today.
I'm optimistic about the situation in Latin America, and admire Chavez, reformist or not.. I believe his actions have made the wheels roll in the right direction in the region.
Hasta la victoria siempre, comrades worldwide!

Welcome to the board. :)

It's always nice to see a member join from outside the "English speaking world". I guess it shows that this site must really be the best.

Welcome comrade :)

:hammer:

I used to go to Sweden every year for a few weeks and drive around in our mobilehome. I love Sweden's beautiful nature and warm-hearted people. I also consider
Sweden almost a Socialist state, mainly because you have like this rule that says you can camp on every terrain, even if it's owned by someone else...

Hey comrade, have a good time here.

Did you read the State and Revolution?

Welcome. I think Lenin was an “okay” revolutionary until he became a statesman. His errors as a statesman can be traced back to his concept of democratic centralism, something a modern vanguard must abandon.

Hello to you all! Thank you for your welcomes!
The State and Revolution I've read only partially
I want to read the whole lot of it in the future though.

The single marxist text that has moved me personally deepest, after the Manifesto obviously, is Man and Socialism in Cuba by Guevara. I recommend it warmly to everybody.

I'm familiar with Lenin and his lifework though, being raised in a marxist home.
We had a statue of him when I was a kid :)
My parents were both active harcore communists and my mom still holds these views as a matter of fact.

I sympathize deeply with the Bolivarian Revolution. I think it has given the oppressed of the region, and me, the hope back.
I also find it incredibly hilarious that while the US is tied up in the middle east, their own "back yard", Latin America, is slipping out of their hands :D
Guess they weren't that powerful an empire after all..
I'm not actively part of the HOV campaign.. I'd like to be though.

The "every mans right" law is great indeed. Wonder how long it'll take until the cappies strip us of that right.

I'm looking forward to interesting discussions with you all!
