There is probably a thread like this somewhere in the archives but im to lazy to look so just out of curiosity does any one play an instrument and if so what kind of music?

personaly I play electric bass in a heavy metal band, stand up bass in a jazz band, banjo/electric guitar in a folk/punk rock band. I also fool around with acoustic guitar(mostly classic rock) and Ajumbia(reggea and aborigianl music)

Nice variation there bro, I do precussion

I play side drum in a few Pipe Bands (and yes I wear a kilt).
Kit drums in a grunge band, we haven't practised in awhile but yeah, our bass player was a bit out of it for awhile but hes coming back now.
I'm also in a group at school called Shika, were based on the American group stomp who use junk at precussion instruments, thats real fun.

I'ed like to have a side band that I fronted too but yeah we'll see, there aren't enough drummers here to go round yet alone singers

I play music in a (well now kinda defunct) band called Xelectric. It started out with my drummer and I but we were partying pretty hard and I wasn't there seeing as I left (drunk off my ass with my driver) this guy's house and my drummer died due to an overdose. It was only a 2 person band and we were suppose to have our first show New Years Eve. We'd been practicing for well over a year, get our first gig and that happens <_<. Anyway I'll be looking for a new drummer in about a couple weeks. Xelectric is a mix of 80s sounding hair/speed metal. All originals. I sing and play guitar. Personally I'd like to keep the sound with another drummer that I set out to do with the original one.

Me too, for about 4 years. Too bad I couldn't put up a band so far... played in the municipal theater twice though. Now I have little time to practice due to College.

I play the violin and viola well, I am learning a little piano. I try my hand at composing now and then as well ;)

Why, if I had pantaloons, I'd be just like Bach!

Mostly just been learning songs by RHCP and Nirvana along with other random songs that I've came across.
Can't say I'm very good but its early days for me musically...

I play the bass and have been in a number of bands over the years playing allsorts of music from ska, reggae, Mod, 60s garage, psych, power pop, alternative & political pop.

I don't do much band wise these days apart from a bit of studio work as I now spend my spare time on my record label - Red Star Recordings.

I have been playing the drums for a good seven years or so now, and have had quite a variety of experience playing in different bands. From school bands, to snare drum in marching bands, as well as drumming in variious school jazz bands. I am currently playing in my basement these days with my rock band. I play pretty much any type of genre but i find improv jazz drumming most enjoyable.

Drummer, halfway attempt at rounded percussionist but not so much.
I can play punk, funk, jazz, rock, swing, symphonic, and marching percussion and drumming. Now, I'm out of the marching and symphonic type stuff and am more focused on the fun part of it, except the only chance i get to play is at the church my mom forces me to go to. Marching percussion is so much fun, I did it all, and was pretty proficient at all of it, Cymbals, Bass, Snare and Quints, Bass was definately my fav, challenging and very focused on unity between the line and stuff, a great way to make some damn good friends, seein as you all gotta be thinkin on the same track and keepin it together, fun stuff. I try my hand at keyed percussion, but I can't read anything more than rythms, I can play any scale though.

I play the bagpipes in a pipe band like Angus a.k.a Rockfan, and yes I wear a kilt. I also play them in a celtic - punk band called Cross Antics, we are all original and have incorporated the bagpipes to make a unique sound, although the Dropkick Murphys also use them. I play the guitar for leisure sometimes, just not that great at it
