There are many reasons why United States goes out of its way to protect Israel. One is that Israel has a lot of influence in American media and politics  . Another reason is that United States itself is a nation of squatters. When Europeans came to America, they found the land overrun by Indians. Large numbers of Indians were then killed, cheated, converted to Christianity or sent to live in reservations. Just as Jews stole Arabs lands in Palestine, Europeans stole lands that belonged to Indians (native Americans). When United States gained Independence from Britain, it had only 13 states. Washington took advantage the anarchy that was prevailing in its southern neighbour Mexico and annexed the Mexican states of Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. Mexicans living in these areas were driven out and Caucasians (i.e., minus Hispanics. Apparently, they see a big difference.) were settled in their place. Thus, it is unlikely that the U.S. will challenge Jews who have colonized Palestine.

Israel dosn't have any "influence" on the US government and media. Imperialism and U.S. ruling class intrests have an influence on the government and media.

I agree that there is a strong historical parallell between "manifest destiny" and "zionism"; both claim that God wants them to colonize other people's land.

But the U.S.'s support of Israel has less to do with Israel and more to do with the U.S.'s intrests in controlling the middle east just as the UK had a similar intrest in the last century. Israel has the military capassity to be a counterpoint to any regional power as it was against Nassir and then with Iran. For the US, Israel is an "outpost of civilization".

Marxists should be wary of suggesting that Israel has any controll or influence over the US government. Many pro-palistinian liberals claim this as the reason for US-Israeli relations, but many nazis also claim similar things to promote anti-semitism. Second of all, it's just wrong; the US also gives as much aid to Colombia and the press repeats things which are benificial to the US and Colombian ruling class and yet I have never heard anyone claim this is because of a "colombian lobby".

I won't even touch your first point, as it's been covered to hell here already. But your second point is equally absurd. You're saying that the US supports Israel because the US was formed by taking other people's land and so was Israel? Nations don't act out of compassion or friendship, they act out of interest. Not to mention that basically every country in the world has changed hands many times, so by that logic, the US should be friends with everybody.
