I found this webpage a while back, and cannot for the life of me find it again. It was very interesting and had a lot of parallels between the cartoon The Smurfs and communism. One such parallel is outlined in the below image, I found it rather enjoyable.

The smurfs weren't communist for a number of reasons.

No it actually was a propaganda cartoon. That's why it was made.

I think that I read somewhere long time ago that the author of Smurfs was a Nazi, and that Smurfs have antisemitic message. The antagonist, Gargamel, is in many ways similar to how Nazis see Jews and his cat is also named after Jewish angel of death.

I'll put it bluntly:
They obviously live in the middle ages. You can tell by the uniforms of the human characters. They also have a king as well. They have yet to be touched by any sort of industrialization. In other words, they're living in feudalism.
Since they're pre-capitalist, communism is impossible. (unless you're a Leninist), but I digress)
Finally, without capitalism, the means for surplus overproduction do not exist; thus communism is impossible for them.

lol. Think you criticising a bit too much there, comrade JKP.
Read that stuff quite a while ago, maybe they were commies, don't really matter to me but I think its pretty funny the parellels and evidence brought into it.

If people (around Smurfs) live in feudalism that does not prevent Smurfs to live in primitive communism.

...err...umm, I guess you have to look at when the Smurf TV show was made. My guess, is that it is a political parody. Rascist overtones? Thats just a bit far fetched...
