1 - Does anyone know what is happening at the meeting of the Arab League?
I heard this morning that the UAE had proposed a resolution demanding that Saddam and the entire Iraqi government resign within two weeks, after which Iraq would come under the control of the Arab League and UN troops.
2 - UNITED NATIONS - Iraq told the United Nations late Thursday that it has agreed "in principle" to destroy a stockpile of missiles that violate a U.N.-imposed range limit.

What the hell is going up??

i think that the arab league have also announced that they oppose a war with iraq
part of the deal is that saddam goes into exile and is immune to prosecution.
but i cannot see what notice will be taken of this proposal. the arab league recognise that saddam would rather die than to go into exile.
giving saddam immunity would effectively means he gets away with murder, i cannot support this.

Arab League summit ends with anti-war stand
(EuroNews)
Arab leaders see strikes on Iraq as a threat to Arab security and will not participate in any war, they declared in a the joint statement at the close of the Arab League summit in Egypt.
However, no mention was been made of Anglo-American troops currently in Arab countries. And there was only a vague reference to a proposal from the United Arab Emirates that Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein, go into exile.
The final communique only went as far as denouncing attempts by anyone other than the people of a country to impose a regime change. It also called on UN weapons inspectors to be allowed to continue their work.
During the summit, Iraqi Number Two, Ezzat Ibrahim, insisted his country was doing its best to comply with UN inspectors to avoid a conflict.
But he said Washington was bent on "colonising Iraq and redrawing the map of the region".
Live transmission was briefly interupted as Libya's Colonel Gaddafi attacked Saudia Arabia's stance during the 1991 Gulf War.
Saudi's Crown Prince Abdallah ben Abdel Aziz was so furious he stormed out of the room.

It#s a good solution.saddam is removed without anyone dies. But all the other Baath goons have to go with him.

"2 - UNITED NATIONS - Iraq told the United Nations late Thursday that it has agreed "in principle" to destroy a stockpile of missiles that violate a U.N.-imposed range limit."
I believe that Iraq destroyed 4 missles yesterday with a buldozer, under UN supervision and also started moving other missles to a site outside Baghdad for destruction.
