The main difference between the two is that FARC was formed by farmers and peasants living in the more rural parts of Colombia and ELN was formed by people from urban areas that generally came from a more a middle class back ground.
Both groups share a Marxist ideology, however FARC is about a decade older than ELN and is larger in size and capability.
Another key difference is that FARC has for individual auntonomy in various rural areas of Colombia and has been willing to acceptt his individual auntonomy rather than a total take over of the Colombia government (althought they have stated this as one of their goals) At one point FARC even had ran in the general Colombian elections and had some members elected to public office, which was of course controlled by more mainstream political parties. ELN seems to want nothingless than a total overthrow of the Colombian government as a whole, replacing the Colombian gov. with a socialist gov. made up of their politcal wing members.
DEspite these differences, recently bothgroups have started to work together on a limited basis.

Thanks, I would think that the ELN's ideologies conflict with one another communist and christian, but i would probably say its the best (dont get me wrong ,i'm athiest) since south america has so many catholics. also they probably wont have any human rights violations.
