Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?

Democracy is not necessarily a requisite for relations with the United States, and no where in the constitution does it set standards for foreign relations.
It would be difficult to find any major nation that has not dealt with tyrannical states in one form or another. This is not a problem exclusive to America, it is just a geopolitical reality for any industrialized nation.

That isn't what I implied. What the message was that the US government champions constantly at being the most free nation that has ever existed, but yet the install these tyrants in order to secure the control over a country and/or region. This is the list of the tyrants whom Washington supports or supported, and as far as they're concerned these dictatorships are democracies. Supporting tyrants while championing about being free don't exactly go hand in hand.

No US patriots? Gee, I was hoping they could give us an explaination for supporting third world dictators under the cloak of "freedom".
