Hello,

I am brand new to RevLeft, having joined a while ago but not read or posted until today.

I'm a left-liberal socialist with libertarian social ideas. From what I've seen of the board so far, it seems great. There are many people who share my ideas of advancing society and getting rid of the wage-slavery system, ala capitalism.

I listen to Air America radio, though they are not socialist, they are the most liberal station you can find anywhere in american media (though conservatives would have you believe that NPR is a "liberal" station).
I'm also a member of DSA-USA (Democratic Socialists of America).

What are some good boards on here to start out on? I've been through politics and some of the Che forum.

One question: How do you guys/gals envision the change to a socialist society occuring? Ideally I'd like to see a rapid evolutionary approach taking place within the framework of the current system. Do you all think this is possible? Or do you support revolution?

I am very disenchanted with the current system, the poverty, the racism, the suspension of civil liberties and rights, wage slavery, etc. I want to change this so much for the betterment of humankind, but I don't know where to start, etc. If there are any protests or demonstrations in the Phoenix, AZ metro area, I'd like to go. I'd really like to organize a Wal-Mart protest here or organize outside the offices of AZ house/senate members downtown to protest various things-- torture, suspension of civil liberties, unlivable wages, etc.

Thanks.

-Jon

Welcome brother, may ur stay be long and informed

Revolution is the answer brother, we must bring about the destruction of the old state and erect a new state based on socialist principles, and the primary principle of "for the people"

IMO, America is far from a socialist revolution
I would give u my reasons, but I haven't got all day
So I'll give u one to think about:

The majority of American's are more concerned with whats going on on Desperate Housewives, then with the political scene in tha US
