Hi Comrades,

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Soviet-made film of the Russian Revolution? I watched a TV documentary where a man who looked like Stalin played Stalin in the film and the film followed the whole Revolution with Lenin and Stalin plotting and planning everything. Also showed a bit of WW2 where Stalin went to Berlin after the Germans surrendered and thousands of people came out and cheered and greeted Stalin thanking him for Liberating them from Nazi rule. The film looked really good but only showed those few clips of it.

Does anypne know where I can get this film?

There must be a website or something where I can buy Soviet made or Communist films?

I don't know which Soviet-made film you're talking about here. The definitive Soviet-made film about the revolution is "October" (aka "Ten Days that Shook the World"), by Sergei Eisenstein. However, Stalin is not a central character in the film (just as he was not a central character in the revolution itself), and in fact is only in a couple of short scenes. There are also no scenes in "October" that deal with WWII.

Amherst college has a large collection of Russian films, with descriptions listed on their website (http://www.amherst.edu/~russian/resource/films/)
