I'm writing a brief article for Socialist Appeal about the post-katrina situation, with a focus mainly on the corporate profiteering that's going on there.
I have a few articles that help demonstrate the point, but if anybody has personal experiences or good articles/facts about the Katrina situation, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post them in this thread.
I apologize if this doesn't belong in politics.

A while ago whilst doing college work I ran across this piece -- Environmental Building News Offers Ten-Point Plan for Rebuilding New Orleans (http://www.buildinggreen.com/press/new-orleans.cfm) -- I doubt this is what is actually happening, but it may interest you anyway.
This --

Haha, you're pretty far away. I'm in Houston, Texas.
Are you going to go to the international in Barcelona, since it is less than 5 hours away?

I'm not sure if I'm going. Money is tight and it's about a 9 hour plane trip for me.
It would be cool though.
To get back on topic....The US gov't has given $20 billion dollars of no-bid contracts to corporations like halliburton for the "reconstruction" of New Orleans.
Also, Bush temporarily suspended the Wade-Davis bill, which meant corporations could pay workers whatever the hell they felt like.
