I need to ask you guys a favor,
I'm in the middle of a discusion of a long time ago about: the CIA's responsibillity for Che's death.
This dude i know, claims that the CIA had almoste nothing to do with it!
Now i need some old letters of the CIA on the web (declasifed) or some other kind of sources that can proove that CIA did have something to do with the death of Che. I'm not so good in finding stuff on the internet, so i'm asking you guys to help me! The best thing would be LETTERS but if you've got something else, than your're also welcome.
Hasta La Victoria Siempre!

Felix Rodriguez, ex-CIA agent, is a start. There is a picture of him standing next to Che minutes before the execution. What's more is that Felix recieved a "Thank You" letter from G.H.W. Bush (who was in CIA) for capturing Che. There's a lot of info pertaining to the execution with the help of CIA, who put so much money in arming and training Bolivian troops to capture Che.

I don't think that the documents that you want have been declassified. However, it is certain that Felix Rodriguez was a CIA operative who helped capture Che Guevara with the aid of US trained and funded Bolivian Rangers. So the CIA played a major part in the capture of Che. They were not responsible for his actual execution; the Bolivian general in charge of the whole operation was responsible for that.

Hey Sanjee, here's a link to some declassified NSA reports on Che's murder. I'm not sure if they'll help you or if they're even truthful at all but you did request some declassified information concerning Che's murder.
National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Book No. 5 The Death of Che Guevara: Declassified (http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB5/index.html#declass)

There are some books out there about declassified documents about Che dating all the way back to his actions in Guatemala!! But if what you are looking for is the involvement of the CIA the Revolutionary Life is a good book to start with. Felix Rodriguez gave a long interview in a documentary I have called "Sacrificio". It's mainly about Ciro Bustos but for the majoruty of the documentary, Rodriguez appears talking about his role in the execution of Che (If you get to see it, I recomend NOT to take the coments of Rodriguez too seriously since the CIA has a long history of not telling the truth!!)

Here's what I found about that letter, I'm not sure if it pertains to Che:
A Christmas 1988 greeting from President George Bush to his torturer, killer, thief and drug trafficking friend Félix Rodríguez. The tone is revealing: "Dear Félix, Thank you for your note of December 18. Yes, the truth is powerful. You have told the truth faithfully and have won a lot of respect in the process. Good luck. May 1989 be calmer than 1988 and may it be full of great happiness for you. With admiration and respect, George Bush"
Taken from Granma Internacional (http://www.granma.cu/ingles/33alo/30george-i.html)
Apparently George and Felix have been buddies since the 60's, maybe earlier.

In actuallity, the role of the American Government was on a much lower level than you all seem to think. Of course the US did train Bolivia's military. However, the trainings had begun before the US government had even realized that Che was in Bolivia. The reason the US decided to train their military was simply because it was the weakest and could easily crumble if under assault by determined communists. Upon discovering Che, it only furthered their cause.
All events leading up to the execution of Che were entirely under control of the Bolivian military. It's responses, attacks, and chases were all under their command. Only when Che had been captured, did the CIA ever step in. With Che captured, they sent Felix and some other Hispanic operative to interrogate Che. In fact, the US wanted Che alive. The Bolivians viewed this as absurd however, and so had him executed. This fact alone should prove that the CIA had little involvement in the Che incident. Just in their training.
